I think it's a good and realistic trade so good job for that.
Maybe drop Moroz and the MON 2nd and add EDMs 2015 2nd? Just a thought anyways, good post.

I don't think its enough from Edm. Moroz and the 2nd work, but Purcell might be looked at as more of a cash dump than a true addition to the team. Perhaps if the 2nd was changed to 16th overall, Detroit might be ok with taking on Purcell for a year.

16th overall is just a bit to much for Howard.
Another possibility would be Buffalo trading pick #21 for Howard?

Not enough from Edmonton. Howard isn't that horrible. There are plenty of goalies who have dealt with injury and inconsistency. I agree his cap may be an issue but you put him on a team like Buffalo or Edmonton. He is a Starter. He can play lots of games. The only worry for teams like Edm and Buf is that a lot of goals can get through and there is no guarantee Howard can do what Bernier and Reimer do in Toronto with facing 40+ shots a night.

Edmonton should focus on improving their D-men first. Or see if they can get a package of D-men and a goalie.

Buffalo and Edmonton are not entirely the same scenario. Buffalo may be a good spot for Howard.

Many people say Patrick Sharp can get a late first. Howard should be able to get that or at least a D-man we could use(where we add if needed), or some solid prospects.

Also Holland has said Howard won't be traded at this time, maybe at 2016 trade deadline or next off-season. If Detroit trades Howard too soon, It could create trouble for them. Since behind Howard, Mrazek is the only one looking good at the moment.
