The Oilers winning the draft can really jump them into a playoff spot drafting another young centre will not help them now they need a proven minute eater on defence and someone who can stop the puck

LA KINGS has had a core of a winning team for the past few years and could still have a good team next year. I don't see them trading their to core players of Doughty & Quick in order to get a potential superstar.

I am not discounting McDavid's skills, just that his ability to be successful in the NHL is yet to be determined. You can be amazing in minor teams but struggle in the NHL. I just think LA would rather stay pat then take the risk of trading for number one. I wouldn't be against however making a move to try for Hannifin by LA so they can improve their Blue Line. which struggled this past year.
