Gardiner, Holland
for
Ritchie. B

Phanuef, Leivo, Loov
for
Ritchie. N, 1st-2017

Bernier, Lupul
for
Porier, 3rd-2016

Adds picks and prospects for the rebuild. Yes they are doing well but don't give up the future because they are on a hot streak.

1.) 28 Nov 2015 00:38:16
you are aware the ducks gave away holland and Gardner cause they didn't fit there system right so why would they give up a top prospect to get them back.

2.) 28 Nov 2015 00:27:59
that second trade is ludicrous.

3.) 28 Nov 2015 04:20:23
@Hockeyfan the trade is for B. Ritchie from Dallas which I'd a horrible trade for the leafs seeing as Gardiner probably has more value than Ritchie alone.

4.) 28 Nov 2015 05:16:29
Anaheim laughs. Best forward prospect and a 1st for that? What a joke.

5.) 28 Nov 2015 05:50:00
LOL! Does Pinball have 2 accounts here?

6.) 28 Nov 2015 10:54:32
Way to much cap going to Calgary and Anahaeim. They have some contracts coming up that are gunna be of somewhat significant value (Vatanen, Lindholm, Anderson-Gaudreau, Monahan) it's 8Mil each with none going back. Also value isn't there.

7.) 28 Nov 2015 13:12:46
That was B. Ritchie I was referring to by the way not N. Ritchie.

8.) 28 Nov 2015 22:12:54
Hows this have so many "Believables"

12 Nov 2015 03:44:48
Phaneuf, Panik
for
Ritchie. N, 1st-2015

Ducks have a win now roster and adding another top 4 dman will help relieve the forwards and let them concentrate on offence

Bailey, Granberg
for
Ritchie. B

Small trade helps both teams

Gardiner, Bernier, Robidas
for
Scrivens, Nurse

Bernier will rebound and be their #1 as well as some proven dmen to stabilize the back end.

leaffan

1.) 12 Nov 2015 05:13:58
You mean 1st 2016? And in what world does Phaneuf and a waiver pick up get you two 1st rounders?

2.) 12 Nov 2015 06:08:02
Not a one of these trades is within the realm of reality. They all HUGELY favor the leafs. Not going to happen.

3.) 12 Nov 2015 06:58:47
Not even close. And the Oilers don't need Bernier.

4.) 12 Nov 2015 12:10:47
You'd be lucky to get one of those peices for Phaneuf and I mean lucky as for the edmonton trade i'd like to send Bernier to Edm and bring back Reimer-Scrivens but you won't get Nurse for him.

5.) 12 Nov 2015 20:10:09
No way Toronto would get Nurse from Edmonton.

6.) 12 Nov 2015 21:05:39
All trades favor Toronto shocker.

Leafs have some tough choices coming up
1) Do they still rebuild even with Babcock
2) Who do they draft
3
)Who are they and want to be

The Leafs have some good building blocks but need to change their locker room chemistry. Yes Babcock is an experienced coach but with new management and coaches comes a new philosophy. Mike came to Detroit with all that in place and he stuck to it. This gives him the opportunity to make his own mark and with the contract he has, management seems willing to let him do it.
Rumor has it that the Cotes want Strome, so who do the Leafs want, a dman or a forward?
Why not both. With NJ in need of scoring and veterans with years on their contracts, the Devils can still compete with some help coming from trades.
The Leafs need to build a new dressing room and with some good young players almost ready, let them grow

Kessel, Bibeau, Bozak
for
6th pick, 3rd rd-2015, 1st-2016, Scarlett

Devils get a proven scorer and allows their players to move back to their secondary scoring roles rather than rely on them, and gives them a goalie prospect they don't have much

Phanuef, Biggs, Frattin
for
Ritchie.B, Dickinson

Stars get somebody to take the pressure of Goligoski and a swap of young players

Gardiner, Johnsson
for
Ritchie.N

Ducks get a young offensive dman and a young forward

Draft
4-Marner
6-Provorov
24-Debrusk

leaffan

1.) 31 May 2015 19:00:59
Interesting, that 2016 devils pick could be another top 10 pick.

2.) 01 Jun 2015 00:30:29
NJ won't trade for Kessel if it involves giving up the 6th IMO

3.) 01 Jun 2015 03:57:15
& big no from Ana. Gardiner has done nothing

27 May 2015 21:45:30
Phaneuf, Biggs
for
Ritchie, Dickinson, Oleksiak

Stars could use a big minute eater capable of playing with Goligoski and with big salries on the horizon they are in a win now mode

Kessel, Gardiner
for
DiGiuseppe, Skinner, 5th pick

Canes get a proven scorer who than can move Semin to the 2nd line to give them 2 solid scoring lines and Gardiner gives them depth on D. With so many veteran players they need a proven(while still relatively young) player instead of a rookie

Draft
Strome-4th
Marner-5th
Carlo-24th

Sign
Franson

JVR-Strome-Skinner
Marner-Kadri-Brown
Nylander-Holland-Komarov
Panik-Sill-Bailey

Reilly-Franson
Robidas-Percy
Polak-Brennan

leaffan

1.) 27 May 2015 22:49:30
Canes laugh out loud and say no.

2.) 28 May 2015 00:34:13
Nylander plays over brown

3.) 28 May 2015 02:32:39
I like the idea of the marner, kadri, brown line

4.) 28 May 2015 10:35:14
Skinners value is at least as high as Kessels (factoring in contracts, D play, attitude). Which leaves a solid prospect and 5th overall in THE draft for a D-liebility with a bad contract. I don't think so, Leafs.

5.) 28 May 2015 18:22:09
Skinner sucks bro. No one wanted him in my fantasy last year

6.) 28 May 2015 19:09:05
oh come on @Draisaitl_94 don't even go there, that's a pathetic comment. if I recall scoring is the most important and rarest element in this game and is valued over dplay. and skinner hasn't even been close to the point totals in his rookie year and yes he's a great 2nd line winger but in no way shape or form is he equal to kessel in value

7.) 28 May 2015 21:23:03
Yes he is. Much younger, at least equal upside, better defensive play, a sniper as well, much better contract, no attitude problems.

8.) 28 May 2015 21:54:20
@Draisaitl Defensive play and attitude problems are blown way out of proportion for Kessel. Skinner hasn't even hit 60 points in a season since his rookie season and only put up 31 points in 77 games last season making close to 6 mil per year so I don't know how your saying he has a better contract? Lol and he hasn't even shown glimpses of achieving of what he was in his rookie season so what makes you think he will ever be as good as Kessel?
Just a really bad post

Kessel >> Skinner

30 Apr 2015 22:57:19
Kessel, Gardiner
for
Strome, DalColle, Pulock, 3rd-2016

Phaneuf, Bernier
for
Nurse, 2nd-2015

Robidas, Lupul, Bozak
for
Markov, 3rd-2015(Buff)

leaffan

1.) 01 May 2015 10:03:07
Edmonton laughs and hangs up the phone, Nurse will be better then Phaneuf!

2.) 01 May 2015 10:44:53
Not happening robidas is finish bozak overpaid and lupul injury prone

3.) 01 May 2015 21:17:41
Montreal, Your ludecris.

Robidas is the only player in that deal that is older than Markov.

Bozak and Lupul are way too much alone.

Plus, Leafs don't need an old aging vetern in Markov.

4.) 02 May 2015 12:48:57
Markov is a goalie from Buffalo

5.) 02 May 2015 12:59:11
Did you say injury prone?
How many years has Markov played more than 70 games?

6 out of 12 years

His point per game average for his career is close to Phaneuf and Phaneuf is 6 years younger
Bozak had the same points last season as DD

6.) 02 May 2015 15:25:05
@leaffan The sabres don't have any goalie prospect named Markov. Now Andrey Makarov on the other hand they do have.

7.) 02 May 2015 18:37:53
Markov was not injured ever since like 3 years ago

8.) 02 May 2015 18:41:41
Get paid less then phaneuf and is leadership count for something two and that's what leaf don't have! E

For all of you who under rate Kessel look at the latest trades

Lucic
for
Jones, 1st(13), prospect

Hamilton
for
1st, 2 2nd's

Neither one have or will ever come close to the offensive output of Kessel. Yes he may be out of shape but not one player complains about his bad attitude(Lucic). Put both players and combine their point totals and they are not even Kessel numbers.

Kessel
for
Lottery pick, Prospect, young player
or
2 1st's,2 2nd's

leaffan

1.) 27 Jun 2015 11:47:45
You just didn't say Kessel is worth more than Hamilton + Lucic because he had more points then these two combined? You just didnt.

1. It's not even true. Kessel had 61 points last year. Lucic had 44, Hamilton had 42. In my book 86 >>>> 61.
2. Even if it was correct. If you haven't realized, Hamilton is a defenseman. If you're not Erik Karlsson, you're not going to get as many points as a Dman as you'd get as a forward. Thought that'd be obvious, but apparently it isnt.
3. Lucic brings other things like physical play and backcheck. Things Kessel never even heard of in his life. Heart and soul.
Hamilton is 22 and a #1-2 defenseman. He alone is worth more than Kessel.

That's probably the most stup** thing I've ever read in here. And that's not easy to do.

MacT was asked what the odds are of trading McDavid. His response

"is there a number lower than 0"

Yes GM's lie all the time but you DON'T trade the future of hockey, you build around him

Players on the block for Edm
RNH- still young with big upside but with Draisitl and McDavid he will be an expensive 3rd line C
Hall- Great player but management seems to have an issue. Will fetch a lot in return
Scrivens- with a new #1 goalie coming in and some nice young goalies ready to play small roles at the present time his time may be u

Needs for the team
#1 goalie
2 top 4 dmen
quality depth on the 3rd/4th lines

Let's build up our farm system and young talent

Kessel, Bozak, Biggs
for
Ritchie, Oleksiak, Cole, 1st-2016, Horcroff

Cole and Horcroff are cap fillers

Phaneuf, Johnsson
for
Fowler, Ritchie

Gardiner, Lupul, Ashton
for
O'Rielly

Franson, Reimer
for
Ward, 1st-2016

leaffan

1.) 20 Jan 2015 03:00:42
so kessel and bozak for ritchie, oleksiak and a 1st next year. really? you can't be serious.

2nd one is just as bad as the 1st, excpet anaheim losing not toronto

07 Jan 2015 12:04:03
With Carlyle gone, that is one piece of the puzzle but the chemistry still needs help. Let's get pieces in here and look ahead for next year. I know they are still in a playoff spot but the question is whether you want to make the playoffs and go nowhere or build team for a long run?
What are your value for key players and let's be seriously.
I am not looking for a trade like
Kessel
for
1st
That is not realistic.
Leafs looking at
Kessel
Bozak
Phaneuf
Franson
Lupul
Gardiner

Are there packages or a multitude of trades?

leaffan

1.) The fundamental problem with the making any one trade, is that it's not enough to swing the momentum towards them being bad enough to get the quality talent they need to get better.

07 Nov 2014 11:41:31
Leafs could use some more scoring and with some defenceman that can be moved what could the Leafs get. All prejudice aside, what is the real value. These could be wingers or a center because Kadri could slide over to the wing if a better faceoff man is obtained

Lupul, Gardiner
for
?

Franson, Holland
for
?

JvR-Bozak-Kessel
?- Kadri-?
Komarov-Santo-Clarkson
Panik-Winnik-Booth

Phanuef-Reilly
Percy-Robidas
Granberg-Polak

leaffan

1.) At this point, Lupul could probably get you Pronger and that's about it. IR for IR. Maybe Savard, I suppose. Deal with it.

2.) 09 Nov 2014 00:32:52
chirp, you're literally hilarious.

3.) Take bourque he is good in the playoffs.

Nevermind.
