Toronto - RW Kucherov, G Vasilevskiy & 1st rd pick.

Tampa - RW Kessel, G Gibson & 3rd rd pick.

I think it's a pretty even trade especially because of Tampas place in the standings. Being as they have Bishop they have goalies to spare & There pick will be a late first-rounder. Then the Leafs can trade either Reimer or Bernier.

I usually don't covet Russian prospects but Vasilevskiy is a Tukka Rask-esk type of prospect, so he's going to be a stud and well Kucherov is already a beaut! But what do you think?

Tampa laughs and then hangs up, and kessle WILL NOT be traded within the division

2.) 19 Feb 2015
I think if you take away the Tampa 1st and make the 3rd a second, they may consider it

Right. He's going to be a stud. Kucherov is a beauty. That's the reasons why they're staying.
Not even close, Tampa not only laughs and hangs up, they completely delete Nonis number and call the police because they just witnessed an attempt to get robbed.

Try trading Kessel somewhere else for the teams young, valuable assets that TOR lacks, but please, please don't think SY would ever, ever even be close to dumb enough to even consider this bullshit.

I don't see it. I don't see Tampa giving up Vasilevski and Kucherov for really anyone and taking on Kessel really hurts their cap situation. Kucherov and Kessel aren't all that far apart scoring wise this year and Kucherov is much better in his own zone. Kessel would likely help Tampas power play which does need some work. I just don't see the value in trading Kucherov Vasilevski and a first essentially for Kessel. Bishop will likely cede to Vasilevski in the next couple years and Kucherov and the rest of the triplets have arguably been the best line in hockey this year. 2 20 goal scorers and all 3 top 5 in the league in +/- last I checked

5.) 19 Feb 2015
Tampa can't afford Kessel, especially not after they give Stamkos and Hedman a big raise. Besides they don't really "need" Kessel anyway.

Vasilevsky looks legit. Kucherov (like a lot of TB players) are over achieving a bit this year. I won't sign off on him long term, but why would Tampa move him now?

Having said that, Kessel won't be moved for scraps, so don't pretend that IF Tampa wanted Kessel, some of those young pieces wouldn't be on the table. Even SY knows that.

@Adam: that's why I'm 110% sure that he isn't interested in Kessel at all. Why? there are 0 reasons for TB to be interested in Kessel (cap, younger players, no defense which cooper hates)

7.) 19 Feb 2015
TBL fans what if Kucherov sucks after this season?

8.) 19 Feb 2015
@ Drais

I agree. I don't see why Tampa would pursue Kessel at this point.

9.) 19 Feb 2015
Benn14 it's entirely possible that happens. But I've seen nothing to signal that that will happen. He wasn't this good last year but he wasn't bad and it's only his second season. I'd be more inclined to bank on him maintaining top 6 status than to fall apart.

Benn14 - they will trade him to Ottawa for their best goalie . Conacher/Bishop
