Best Player in the Trade is Byfuglien correct but for the Jets this year and a playoff push this Trade makes them better and making it into post season is a must for the Jets this year for much needed revenue.
Leaf reasons are obvious since they are going nowhere this year.

Thoughts?

This doesn't really make Winnipeg better this year though.

Having Mr glass (Lupul), an old man (Robidas) and a 3rd liner at BEST (Winnik) does NOT make Winnipeg better. This trade ruins the team, and they give up the 3 best players.

That doesn't even get you Byfuglien by himself. Lupul is worth a second, Winnik is worth a 3rd, and Robidas is worth a 5th if you retain salary and/or add a 6th or 7th round pick as well.

This does not make the Jets better at all. Ok they get a declining defender, an injury-prone player, and a pretty solid depth guy but they are giving up their best defender.

Half of their team is injured, why bring in Lupul?

Wow! You clearly are a Leafs Fan, because that is the absolute worst trade ever. Lupul is always hurt. Robidas. soo old. Winnik is the only decent player, and the Jets will not trade Buff, he's better than almost every Leaf on the roster.
