The teams will trade whatever picks make up the difference.

I think this trade is decent, I can't totally see Kessel going to Colorado, but I think it could happen. COL gets a defender and a bit more bang for buck in Kessel, and TOR gets a born leader and a good Top 6 winger. I'm guessing COL adds, but I could be wrong.

What about a Kessel for O'Reilly, Bleackley, a 1st and 2nd or 3rd? Don't think we could get Landeskog from the Avs. Like you said he is a born leader. Very rare to have that om such a young player.

Retaining Salary does not make sense. It goes against the cap and on a team with no cap room why why why would they take 4 million in salary for a player playing elsewhere
