Idek why but it seems people hate 3 way trades but sometimes they make it easier to trade high end players.

Montreal gets Nazem Kadri, and conditional pick in 2016 from WSH

Washington gets Tomas Plekanec or DD and a 2nd from Toronto

Toronto gets Mike Green and 3rd from WSH, Lars Eller and Juri Sekac

Obviously I'm a Habs fan but I tried to make this as unbiased as possible value wise. Montreal giving 3 players to get one seems like a lot but we would have 3 top 9 centres still just have a whole on wing that a prospect could maybe fill.

Washington clearly plays as a helping hand to Montreal and ideally that seems like no one would do it but it does help them getting a second line shut down centre or second unit Powerplay centre plus a pick.

Toronto gets a veteran who has lost a step but can help them out IMO at least. Lars Eller adds them centre depth and also get some nhl ready prospects ( Sekac questionable but Patryn could be a 6th or extra this year if they trade Franson at the deadline.

Idk if cap works it's just more a value for value trade lol.

1.) 16 Sep 2014
Washington declines, doesn't get enough for Green

2.) 16 Sep 2014
No way from T.O

3.) 16 Sep 2014
Toronto gets the best deal IMO. Then Washington, then Montreal.

4.) 16 Sep 2014
So montreal gives up Plekanec, Eller, Sekac and a 2nd for Kadri.

No way from habs.

Habs win the Sekac lottery and then trade him in a package for a player that really wouldn't help them all that much? Yeah, no.
