-They also gain a 2nd rounder for next years draft

- They up their toughness on D while also finding a player who may not score as much as Ny but is a two way player that can play in a top 6 role.

Calgary gets the best player and can deal with Ny's cap hit next year.
- They would still have to juggle their line up to be cap compliant this year but, also gain back some younger D men - 1 that is tough (not as tough as big Z) but still can bring that forte to the game and another who can progress up the lines.


all n all both gms walk away from this trade feeling they did the right move to address their now respective clubs.

Be great for calgary to have nylander but they don't want to go in cap hell like the leafs. I think nylander will get something like this because leafs backed themselves in a corner.

God you soundboard stupid for trading 2 1st round picks, 1 with e cepgionally high value, for a middle 6 keefoot type player and a big body slow footed rhd, and ontop of that your literally trading the guy we signed less than 48h ago.

Yes I did a deal that gave the Leafs some cap space and Calgary takes it on. ( but ino will trade Hannifin and can be cap friendly by trading for picks and a prospect if they choose to do so.

Pssst for some reason you call Big Z slow and slew footed like he does nothing for a TEAM AND, . Yes I traded up for toughness, more reliable, more experience.

I feel like the Leafs now is very well rounded, and teams won't run our players (including our young guns and goalies)
