Value seems good. Colorado needs the help up front. Won't be surprised if they go after Drouin as well if the money is right. A reunion with MacKinnon could be exactly what he needs.

I REALLY like what Toffoli brings to a team. He produces, and is a really good teammate.

That said, Newhook and a 1st for Toffoli and a 4th seems pretty steep for a guy whose UFA at the end of the season. Newhook is 11 years younger, so combined with a 1st, that's a whole lot of future for one year of Toffoli, who will DEFINITELY hit the market as a UFA.

@Chickenfoot I could see Toffoli resigning with Colorado if the fit is good. I haven't seen a whole lot of Newhook so I don't know where his value is at. 11 years younger is quite a bit though. Maybe it's a conditional first based on Toffoli's production. Not sure that's allowed under the new CBA though.

@Chickenfoot- I agree. He could definitely cash in, but I feel like he's also the kind of guy that would stick around AND take a pay cut if it meant another cup run was possible.
