VAN needs Pearson’s Cap Space next year to re-sign Horvat, Kuzmenko & Hoglander and Garland’s in 2 Years to re-sign Petterson & Podkolzin, so Lucic’s Cap Hit falling off in 1 and Toffoli’s in 2 years works out perfectly timing wise

Flames should still look to sign Stastny for insurance as well. Mangiapane, Garland & Dube will have Break Out Years this year and hopefully everything clicks so Huberdeau, Miller & Weegar stay in CGY.

Could look to move Backlund, Hanifin, or more likely, Tanner Pearson out next off-season if need be to open up Cap Space in addition to Monahan’s $6.375mil coming available too, so the $$$ will be there to keep this Team together. Just need to sign Mangiapane long-term and plan for Lindholm, Dube & Hanifin’s extensions but with Backlund coming off the books, that shouldn’t be a problem either.

Canucks would be giving up a lot of good forwards to acquire the best player in this proposal, Milan Lucic.

Toffoli is the Best CGY Player in this Proposal and Played Great in VAN 6G+4A=10PTS/ 10GP=1.00PPG + 4PTS/ 7PlayoffGP = Conor Garland

Kylington is only 25 and just had a Break Out Season with 0.42PPG +34. He plays both LD&RD. He'd be an Excellent Partner for Ekman-Larsson or Myers. Kyli + a 1st should be sufficient for JT Miller

In addition to Myers & Kylington, VAN has a lot of RD's (Burroughs, Poolman, Juulsen, Keeper & Woo), so to give up Schenn shouldn't be a Big Deal and would provide them more opportunity for Ice Time

Ruzicka is a Good Sized Centre with a Ton of Upside. To give him + a 6th RD Pick up for Schenn & Disgruntled Di Pietro is a Favor/ Sweetener to VAN to help push this deal through

Lucic is the Great Leader, Protector & Enforcer VAN needs for their Smaller Young Stars. I don't particularly want Pearson, but to open up $2mil in Cap Space and because he has already Played under Sutter, he could be a Good Fit in CGY. Getting out of 2 years of Pearson's contract to just pay the remaining $1 million owed to Lucic and then be out by the Trade Deadline or Next Off-Season should be appealing to VAN

CGY is going for it, whereas VAN is looking to Dump Cap, Get Younger, but still stay somewhat Competitive.

Why do you say that @Luko!? I agree he’s overpaid, but he’s not completely useless. He does bring more to a Team than just Scoring.
