The Flames are leading the division and 2nd in conference, with Zadorov and his partner a big part of the reason why, I doubt your fantasy of trading him will take place.

I don’t mind Zadorov, but he’s expensive and likely won’t extend past this season. Giordano and Soucy are both upgrades and in my proposal they acquire both. Robert Hagg and Marc Staal (if he waived his NTC) would be upgrades as well.

Any chance to improve the team without messing with the harmony and chemistry should be on the table. I’m sure Gudbranson and the rest of the Flames wouldn’t mind a better defender at 3LD either.

The Philadelphia deal would be a win for the Flames but I would replace Valimaka and the second round pick with Dube and a fifth round pick. Creates more cash for next year and Dube is not performing on a consistent basis. Dube could be another Bennet but he probably won't play in the playoffs and this would allow us the cash to sign the big names.

I was throwing Monahan + Valimaki + Dube + a 2nd + a 5th at PHI for Giroux (50% ret. ) + Braun + Brassard.

Monahan + Zadorov + Valimaki + a 2nd for Giordano + Soucy was the other proposal.

Lucic and Dube seem to perform better in the playoffs, that was the case last time anyways. My preference would be to have Lawson Crouse and/ or Johan Larsson replace Dube as well, unless they can use him to acquire Connor Brown, Pavel Zacha, Sean Kuraly, Paul Stastny or Ryan Getzlaf. Oskar Lindblom + Derick Brassard for Dube + 5th would be interesting as well. Valimaki +? in the off season for Jake Bean maybe?
