So, you want Seattle to trade their leading goal scorer who is on a 40 goal pace, retain half his contract and take on a cap dump, all for a B/ C prospect and a late 2nd.

I can't imagine how Seattle wouldn't be tempted. 🙄.

A 2nd + a 4th in Villeneuve might be enough to take Ritchie off your hands but what are you offering for McCann and what compensation are you offering on top of that for the 50% retention? McCann has 15 goals in 31 Games this year. He’s on fire and his value is high. I think you need to offer a 1st + Kerfoot + a Prospect like Dermott, Robertson or Woll to get McCann and then add another 2nd or Prospect if you want retention on top of that, so

1st + 2nd + 2nd + Kerfoot + Ritchie + one of Dermott/ Robertson/ Woll + one of Knies/ Hirvonen/ Niemela + Villeneuve for McCann 50% retained.

If you don’t want to pay the price for retention or to dump Ritchie, take out Ritchie, one of the 2nds, Villeneuve and Knies/ Hirvonen/ Niemela.

Flames might offer their 1st + Emil Heineman (2nd) + Glenn Gawdin + Monahan for McCann. They might offer a 2nd for Jarnkrok + CGY’s 4th back as well if Seattle took Pitlick back, otherwise make it just a 2023 3rd/ 4th. And they might also send Zadorov + one of Poirier/ Whynot + 2023/ 2024 3rd for either Carson Soucy OR Giordano (50% retained)
