Absolutely to the Zacha trade, but NJD probably wants more.

Kane isn’t a UFA till 2025, so what are you proposing here exactly? I don’t see them retaining that long for just Monahan in return… And do you really want that cancer in the Flames locker room!? I’d take Phil Kessel over Evander Kane and I don’t like either tbh.

Typo on Kane's UFA date there, it is 2025. 50% retention would be a starting point for negotiations, the Flames could settle for less in the end.

I'd much rather take a chance on Kane than Kessel. If he's cheap enough to balance the risk they might not want to keep him long either. If there's a coach anywhere who can get him sorted out it's Darryl Sutter and it won't hurt having guys like Looch and Gud around to help keep him in line either.

I know the 2 dressing rooms guys on the Flames may help. but remember San Jose had some dressing room presences too. Karlsson. Burns. Marleau. personally would stay away from Kane.

With Looch and Gud it's not just about dressing room presence it's about having the ability to thump Kane if he needs it too.

A Team is going to benefit with the highly skilled player in Kane, so I agree, why does Calgary have to be politically correct and avoid him if they think they can straighten this guy out or flip him if it doesn't work out, but geez, Kane would need to take some anger management, relationship and addiction therapy and team building classes before I'd let him in to my locker room.

Don't want or need Looch or Gud being charged with assault, which Kane would probably do lol. Wish we would have taken the risk on RD Anthony DeAngelo instead. PS Phil Kessel would have had to be 50% retained as well, but I still don't want him to be a Flame either.
