How much would it cost the oilers to reunite Boychuck with Ference in Edmonton?

Would Edmonton be able to acquire Boychuck and a 2C/3C from Boston with Petry +?? going back in return?

Or is Edmonton better off waiting until he's a UFA and throwing some money at him?

The oilers should let the kids develop another year. I am a leafs fan so I can relate to the frustration you are feeling. but the oilers have some incredible young talent and need to be patient one more year. their is only a few teams with a better chance of drafting in top 2 next year IMO. hold on another year and the oilers will be good again.

I agree we have no more room for d. Next year potentially nurse, Klefbom and Marincin (if not this year) will be in the lineup. That means Schultz, Ference, Nikitin, Fayne, nurse, Marincin, Klefbom. IMO too many top d as it is. Not saying the oilers have good d but potentially in the future one of the best.

Defintiely a good way of thinking about it. I think if the Oilers hang on to those 3 defensive prospects their top 4 will be set. At the same time, if they are going to wait I think they should sign Petry longer term so he doesn't walk for nothing, or trade fot a 2C/3C. I feel like he has the potential to drastically improve and be a solid, more reliable NHL blueliner. IMO.

@Shankar in one of my previous posts I suggested Kelly to get some experience and reliability down the middle. He's also got a nice scoring touch and I think could help out the 3rd line. But I have no idea if that's even a posibility.

@Oilers_11 man that line up sounds very intriguing. Especially in a few years down the road, However there is 5 left handed defensemen in there and 2 rightys in Fayne and Schultz. Do we deal someone or just play the off side like the Red Wings do (7 left handed d)?
