Edmonton: Milian Lucic And 8th overall

Rangers: Future Considerations

Rangers get another top 10 pick and can afford to take Lucics salary as they are in a rebuild.

Oilers dump that toxic contract and mark the beginning to a brighter future.

Obviously Edmonton fans will disagree with the magnitude of his negative value but what do you guys think?

Oilers fans realize it’s an anchor of a contrat; but they also know that they can’t afford to trade the pick as they need more high end talent in the pipeline (especially with players on affordable ELC’s) .

They need one of those cap-hit-free buyouts (unfortunately that would probably only come from a lockout), or for Lucic to retire or something or to find a way to put him on LTIR (maybe he gave Hossa a high five and contracted his diaper rash) .

Yah a LTIR excuse would definitely be ideal.

The Oilers give up too much to dump Lucic's contract.

Sorry vb I’ll put it this way, I don’t think a player with that bad of contract like Lucics can just be traded for future considerations alone, and the fact oil trading a top 10 pick like I don’t thunk the league would allow that haha.
