Jets: trouba + 3rd Rd
Oilers: nurse + 1st Rd 2017
Jets are set on the right side. Oilers are set on the left side. Good trade?

Sorry. trade won't work.
Nurse is exempt from Vegas draft. Trouba is not.
Oilers have their 3 protected D already so they can't pull a trade for a Dman until after the Vegas draft on June 20th.
After the Vegas draft Oilers will have to deal with Vegas instead of the Jets for either Trouba or Meyers, whomever the Jets leave unprotected that Vegas takes.
Trouba hopefully bounces back from his bad season last year, or will lose a lot of value if he doesn't have a great year.

Why would the Jets trade a solid top 3 d-man in Touba for a player that can't crack a horrible Oiler defense. Nurse may be good in the future but the Jets would want an NHL player for Trouba now. No matter, as the Jets won't be trading Trouba for draft choices and prospects.

Trouba isn't established as a solid top 3 defender as of yet. Islandjet always overvalues jets players.

LV draft rules.
Protected Lists
* Clubs will have two options for players they wish to protect in the Expansion Draft:
a) Seven forwards, three defensemen and one goaltender
b) Eight skaters (forwards/ defensemen) and one goaltender
* All players who have currently effective and continuing "No Movement" clauses at the time of the Expansion Draft (and who to decline to waive such clauses) must be protected (and will be counted toward their club's applicable protection limits) .
* All first- and second-year professionals, as well as all unsigned draft choices, will be exempt from selection (and will not be counted toward their club's applicable protection limits) .
Nurse > Trouba. Trouba > Nurse is a moo point.
Nurse is exempt from the Vegas draft, so no go on him as a potential trade asset going anywhere this year. Oilers roster is set for the Vegas draft hence unlikely moves will be made. Jets have some difficult decisions to make before the draft.
Buff, Enstrom, Wheeler, Little, and Stuart all have NTC's already. Scheiffle is a no brainer to protect, so that leaves 2 spots left that can be allocated if 8 player protection is chosen. 2 of Trouba, Meyers, Stafford, Perrault, Matthais and misc forwards / D can be protected. Take your pick. Balance are exposed.
Bad situation in the Peg as someone's going for nothing if management shares your equal value or no trade philosophy.
Sucks yes. but that's the realism of the looming expansion draft situation.
Prospects and picks that are exempt may be all you get back for Trouba/ Meyers because no one will pay anything but a rental rate of a 2nd or 3rd otherwise unless they don't have their 3 top D on the roster already like the Leafs.

Trouba is way over rated. He wants too much money and jets want too much for a return. He's probably stuck in Winnipeg till they get desperate and give him too much money or jets lower they're asking price.

Nurse didn't crack the Oil lineup? I think the Jets will lose Dano or Lowry over Trouba or Myers.

If Trouba or Meyers is available to LV I guarentee you one of them will be taken. Dano is very medicore and Lowry is a bottom 6 guy.

Yeah but Jets would protect 4 D is what I'm saying. So Dano or Lowry would be there best choices.

3 D = Buff, Enstrom, Stuart which are auto protected with NTC's
4th D is EITHER Meyers OR Trouba. take your pick. other is exposed.
If I was Vegas. I'd take whichever of the 2 gets left unprotected over Dano or Lowry.

The Jets will protect 4 d. Trouba and Myers will be 2 of the 4. Stuart will not be protected as he doesn't have to be. You now little about anything and especially about other teams other then your hard on for the horrible oilers.

Stuart must have a NTC then because he doesn't need to be protected. The 2 NMC do.

He has a modified no trade clause. Has 2 years left till UFA. So doesn't need to be protected.
For some reason k99 can't wrap his head around the fact the jets will protect 4 D and 4 forwards. Will lose one of Lowry, Dano, Armia.
