Bruins are in need of a defenseman and Fowler (ANA) came up in talks, what about the following trade?

To ANA:
Krejci + McQuaid + 2017 1st round pick + Griffith (or similar valued prospect)

To BOS:
Fowler + Silferberg + bad contract from roster.

I would bet Shattenkirk ends up in Boston sometime before 2017-2018 season starts.
And Fowler to Detroit or Buffalo.

shattenkirk will be traded before start of season.

The problem with Krejci is his hip surgery, with his age and type of play (very good skater, Puck possesion) he relies on his feet as part of his game. People are not sure he will ever be the same. Blues have had 3 different players have hip surgery and they never returned to their old form. Andy Mcdonald, Paul Kariya, and Carl gunnerson. Carl has not been the same he was playing in Toronto.

SO its not that people are underestimating his value its that people are affraid of a 7million dollar risk for next 5 years. He may never return to his former self that's why your team paid as much as they did for backes.
