I know this won't happen, but I believe it's one way to make the oilers more competitive next season.
Trade: ebs for Hamonic. Some might say islanders want a dman in return, but with Hamonic asking for a trade, they might have no option. Plus, if Okoposo doesn't resign, ebs would be a good fit.

Trade: yak for ellers
Sign: demers
Draft pick: one of the two Finns
Trade one of koporkoski or Hendricks (preferably koporkoski but I doubt it)

Hall/ RNH/ Dray
Pouliot/ Mcdavid/ Draft pick
Maroon/ Ellers/ Kassian
Hendriks/ Letestu/ Parkinan

Klefbom/ Hamonic
Sekera/ Demers

Love it as an Oiler fan. Demers would be a great signing. Not too fond of the Eller for Yak, but value is probs there. Would prefer Berglund or Lowry, but I do think Yak and Ebs should both go if one of the Finns are on the board when we pick.
Eberle for Hamonic is fair value. Its just NYI says they are looking for a replacement Dman. Hopefully once Okposo signs elsewhere and the Jets lock up Trouba, Hamonic for Eberle may be the best deal available.

I don't think the team looks much better. RNH, Yak and the draft pick would be the guys I move first.

I wouldn't say that. They have McDavid and Draisaitl as their top-2 centers. They have no use for RNH.

Yeah I think RNH is expandable. And I think Yak could possibly be packaged for something better.
I'd like to see us drop down in the draft. Seen I think Buttons rankings and Chychrun is suppose to be there at 9. Carolina could use some offence and they'll be around 9.

I don't think its a terrible idea for the Oilers to trade their top 3 draft pick this year either. They should at least explore that option and see what kind of players they could get with that pick and perhaps combined with other prospects and roster players.

The Finns are bigger and cheaper than ebs which will come into hand when signing mcdavid and playing in the west. Plus, if there is an expansion team, they won't have to protect one of the Finns. They will with ebs.
