1st of all, They have 10 million cap space, and 2nd of all, there's not a single player that's not overpaid, so the hl can make a new rule, which can lower the salary after the year.

So in order to accomplish this trade, the NHL has to establish a rule in which each player under contract can have their salary lowered or raised based on their performance? Judged on a yearly basis I assume?
This completely undermines the entire purpose of a long term contract. Or a contract in general.
