Frees 4.5 M for Rangers RFA's, A young D could take the spot or cheap ufa signing. (third pair on depth chart)

Colorado has cap to take him for 1 year, can mentor young team and give them a top 4 D which they need.

Rangers also deal him to the western conference if that makes any difference.

Just a bit to much for a guy who has maybe 1 good year left imo, it would be different if the Avs were a consistent playoff team. Maybe 3rd & a late pick?

I think if Boyle had a couple of years left on his deal the pick should be in the 3rd or 4th range, but he's going to offer valuable veteran experience, and not tie up your cap for more than 2015-16. I have seen less traded (Vermette) for a 1st lately!
