Hawks/Sabres
First post here, hoping to not get boo'do out of the building.
Simple:
To BUF - Patty Kane
To CHI - #2 pick
Based on who the Sabres have chased for coaches, and with some of the young talent in place, they look like a team ready to make a splash. Since they lost out on McDavid, why not bring in a proven star that puts the team in a better position to win now, and is young enough to be there for years to come. It also doesn't hurt that he's a hometown kid.
Hawks cap situation is ugly this offseason, and to keep both Toews and Kane on the roster they will have to move/let go multiple players. By moving Kane for Eichel effectively, it allows the Hawks to keep a Patty Sharpe or a Brent Seabrook, while adding a player who will be a star in the league.

this would be the 1st stumbling block; kane has a NMC and I really doubt he wants to leave CHI and go to BUF. just being from a place doesn't mean you want to play there, toronto is the greatest example of that.

Sorry if I confused the Buffalo comment. I did not mean that Kane would be more likely to go to Buffalo because he's from there, I meant that the Sabres would be more inclined to bring him in and sell him to the fans as Buffalo's own.

Hawks cap problems are happening this offseason, so taking on a bigger contract is counterproductive to what they need to do now.

I think if Boyle had a couple of years left on his deal the pick should be in the 3rd or 4th range, but he's going to offer valuable veteran experience, and not tie up your cap for more than 2015-16. I have seen less traded (Vermette) for a 1st lately!

CX, you just went wholly against your point by showing those stats and commenting on a playing can have a down year. Their four year stats, especially PPG are similar enough that Eberle, based on his contract alone, is the more attractive player.
