Edmonton Trades
Draisaitl
Eberle
Marincin
Scrivens

Toronto Trades
Kadri
Frattin
Gardiner
Reimer

I posted a simular Trade but have added Scrivens and Reimer to the mix to make it not only a monster proposed trade, but more a fair trade for both.

Looking at the pieces involved Edmonton gets there #2 Centre in Kadri, with Eberle traded Yakupov moves up to a Top 6 forward were he will put up better numbers, and Frattin a Edmonton boy goes back home and played well for Eakins when he coached Frattin with the Marlies, Gardiner and Reimer are big upgrades from Marincin and Scrivens.

For the Leafs they lose some at Centre for the now replacing Kadri with Draisaitl but he is more a Carlyle type Player even though he is only 19yrs old and believe this year he will still be a 50 Point Player playing a Top 6 roll, Eberle is the key player in this Deal for Toronto and gives them another Kessel type RWinger that only helps Kessel not be the only sniper on the Team, Marincin paired with Polak, Rielly with Franson, and Phaneuf with Robidas gives the Leafs a solid Defence unit, with Scrivens better as a Backup and JBernier the #1 the JBernier or Reimer playing time is solved and helps all 3 Goaltenders with this trade.

Thoughts?

There are, no words.

Dude, that's hilarious.

3.) 29 Oct 2014
Eberle and Draisaitl? Then they should add Kessel. And take out Frattin, he has nearly no value in a trade like this.

4.) 29 Oct 2014
Kadri is better then Draisaitl
Eberle is much better then Frattin
Gardiner and Reimer are much better then Marincin and Scrivens.
The later is why its fair in the end.
If anyone says Draisaitl, Marincin, and Scrivens are not only even or better then Kadri, Gardiner, and Reimer give your head a good shake, adding Frattin for Eberle evens this Trade up, plus Cap wise its only $95.000 Difference so it works there to.
Its truly a good Trade for both Teams.

It's hard to say how Draisaitl develops. Because he's played what? 8 or 9 games now. So yeah sure atm Kadri is better. But trading Draisaitl who they drafted like 4 months ago? As Nr. 3? Why should they trade him after those couple of games? And that sentence "For the Leafs. etc." is excatly the reason why the Oilers won't trade Draisaitl.

basically you say:

Frattin for Eberle

Kadri, Gardiner, Reimer for Draisaitl, Marcinin, Scrivens

I'd say 2 times no from EDM.

@pinball you clearly do not value young players properly. In the Pacific division you need big center man to matech up with the California teams. In Edmonton they already have rnh a small center why would u want another small center in kadri? On top of that oiler don't want to get older and risk 2 of their top young forwards

@Pinball

I won't even bring Frattin into the discussion. It's debatable that Edmonton would even want him.

At this point Kadri IS better than Draisaitl, but Draisaitl's ceiling is projected to be very very high, likely higher than Kadri's (at least that's going to be Edmonton's logic in assessing trade value).

IMO Eberle isn't light years ahead of Kadri in terms of skill, but he's definitely been better and Edmonton is going to want a top end return if they trade him. And it's unlikely that either Reimer or Gardiner are the difference makers in a trade for Eberle.

Yes, Reimer is better than Scrivens, but again the separation isn't substantial. Gardiner is a bit of an ex-factor. He's clearly better than Marincin and his ceiling is still quite high, but I am not convinced he's the added value difference in a trade for one of Edmonton's best players + their top prospect + Marincin and Scrivens.

In no world is that good for EDM.
When it comes to trading, its not about whos better NOW.
Kadri might or is better than Draisaitl NOW, but Draisaitl was just drafted 3rd overall. EDM wouldn't do a Kadri - Draisaitl straight up swap, because in terms of trade value, Draisaitl is better than Kadri.
Gardiner and Marincin are both relatively young guys that have yet to prove themselves. But Gardiner can't be that good, if he was scratched several times this season playing for a rather very weak defensive corps.
Reimer isn't a real improvement over Scrivens.
So in trade value:
Draisaitl > Kadri
Reimer = Scrivens (maybe slight edge for Reimer)
Marincin = Gardiner
Eberle >>>>>>> Frattin

So no, it's not a good deal for both.

marinicn = gardiner, your leaf hate got in the way there draisaitl. gardiner is clearly the better the player and its not really close. the trade as a whole is nowhere near far vlaue, but neither is your evaluation of it.

10.) 30 Oct 2014
@Draisital_94 are you serious that if gardiner got scratched for a couple of games he isn't going to be that good of a player? Gimme a break. Sometimes you scratch a player to send a msg to him.

I love all these trade proposals with Frattin in them. He's a 4th liner; yes he has speed but he's not a prospect anymore. He's a fringe NHL player.

Him being scratched on a defensive crops that really can't allow scraching players as an educational mean is just one of several things pointing towards that.
He is an okay-good offensive defensemen, but his defense is just awful.
Marincin is a good prospect and I don't think Gardiner's trade value is higher than his.
Me going 11+ and 3- and you 2+ and 11- quite support what I'm saying.
Doesnt have anything to do with leaf hate. I don't even hate the Leafs. I just can't stand their blinded out of this world one-sided fans.

13.) 31 Oct 2014
This has to be one of the worst trades I have ever seen on this site

14.) 31 Oct 2014
^ Actually Drais, if you're looking at defensive value from a puck possession stand point, Gardiner is one of the best on the team (at least that's what the advanced stats say). And +/-, as you know, is hardly a great indicator of individual defensive play.

Also, getting scratched in Toronto is different than anywhere else IMO. Robidas was by far the Leafs worst d-man the first 6 games and he played more than Gardiner. But Carlyle likes his vets.

This is not to say Gardiner is a great defensive d-man by any means, he clearly needs work. But I do think he gets dumped on a bit unfairly at times.

Okay, you might be and prolly are right, since you obviously follow the Leafs closer than I do, but taking this into account does still not give him a higher trade value than Marincin, IMO.
Not to say make this trade work.
