Edmonton trades Jordan Eberle & Jeff Petry to Washington for Karl Alzner & Troy Brouwer & 2015 3rd.

-Oilers need solid defensive fence man
-many high potential Fowards
-Caps solidfy the top 6 and still have a decent top 4

I don't see the point of making masturbatory posts about your own team. "I'd trade Gardiner and a 7th for Crosby and a 1st!" Exaggeration, but not really. Posting junk doesn't promote good conversation. Isn't that what this site is supposed to be about? Talking hockey, rather than discussing trades that almost (but not quite) worked in NHL14? That stuff is boring. If I see a good post about a trade, I'll rant about it. I enjoy that sort of engagement. But when someone posts something that is just plain dumb, why wouldn't I point that out? At the very least, they get educated. Sorry (but not really) if my approach is not ideal, but tact requires more typing and I do enough of it as is.

Chirp talks a lot but doesn't actually say anything. Educated>> disrespected. Eberle,petry for Brouwer,alzner,3 round pick doesn't compare to gardiner,7 round pick for Crosby, 1st round pick! Chirp should be honest with himself and realize he doesn't want to discuss hockey he wants to insult people and make himself feel better.haha.

Sure Gardiner/Crosby is not a good comparison, but he exaggerated on purpose and I think everybody got what he meant.
Whats he supposed to do when reading such stuff? It's clearly a bad trade, why not say that, that's what the site is for. For discussing hockey.

Once again, Draisaitl proves his worth on this site. He gets it. My comparison was far from literal but more a drastic hyperbole of this site as a whole. Unfortunately, most of the trades here are bad. Sometimes, depending on my mood, I'll either make an educated statement about it or be a self-professed douche and tell someone how I really feel about their dumb statement. And like I said, if someone posts a legitimate trade, I'll generally post a long response to add my positive and negative feedback about it because that's what I like about this site, even if it rarely comes up. What I don't get is how Gonzo here acts uppity (without being a douche, I'll give you that) talking about my posts, yet the majority of the posts you speak of have more "Believable" than "Unbelievable" attached to them. I'm confident (maybe even douchy) about my hockey knowledge, and I'm fairly tactless, but I'd say its pretty rare that I say something that doesn't have pretty fair legitimacy behind it. Since when does being right = being douchy?

You seem semi-smart in terms of hockey so how about maintaining that instead of being a sideline-sitter? Either call me out directly and poignantly identify my faults (saying others might think I'm a douche is not that), or quiet down and just try to conduct better conversation on here instead of being a finger-pointer?

@draisaitl what chirp is supposed to do when reading something he disagrees with is to respectfully say I disagree and here's why, here's what I might change to make it work. He kisses you're ass every chance he gets and craps on/disrespects anything he doesn't see as accurate. Wake up @draisaitl94 doesn't want to discuss hockey look at his posts. Chirp is insecure and feels better about himself when he puts down others.

Only thing I wanted to say is: Why can't chirp (or anyone else) say if something is really stupid? I mean of course he could use nicer words and stuff (and I always try to). But if you see the 29th proposal of someone suggeting Plekanec (or any other bad trade, just an example) could fetch MON Evander Kane or whatever, it might get a bit annoying.
Whatsoever, I can only speak for myself, but I'm not on here to bash anyone, but to state my opinion on proposals.
And if I feel a trade is terribly one sided, why wouldn't I allowed to say that? Other people can have a different opinion, no prob

And I'm definitely not the same person chirp is, if that's what u wanted to say.

I just said I am only here to discuss hockey and if you look at my posts, that proves it IMO.
Concerning chirp: I can understand both of you. I can understand chirp saying he's annoyed of stupid proposals and stuff but I can also understand you saying he's rude sometimes.
Just let everyone say what they want, and we're all fine.
We should really focus on hockey.

@draisatl. We should each do what we want if someone wants to focus on hockey then go for it scroll past what me or chirp writes if it's not what you wanna see. I can put chirp in his place and still focus on hockey. With that said I've made my point and we should move past this discussion imo
