The_Triplets won't like this but I think most Tampa and aves fans would be on board

Colorado: Sergechev

Tampa: Bowen Byram

Or

Tampa: Sergechev and Killhorn

Colorado: Byram and Kuat

Tampa- This helps the bolts get out of cap hell and gives them a replacement who has huge potential. If they go the second trade route they free up enough cap to resign their RFAs and get two NHL ready ELC replacements. It's obvious that Killhorn won't return much due to Tampa having absolutely zero leverage similar to Vegas.

Colorado- Sergechev-Makar top pairing....

I mean, Vegas still got something for Stastny, but ya it’s becoming more and more apparent even Killorn won’t return what they want. If you HAVE to trade Sergachev, Byram isn’t an necessarily a bad return, but there are talks he’s going to be loaned to Sweden because he’s not NHL ready. Moving Sergachev for a player you hope can play 3rd pair minutes pretty much takes Tampa out of contention this year imo, but it’s significantly better than taking a late first and meh player/ prospect that wouldn’t help compete really anyway. Byram is also only 3 years younger than Sergachev, he’s behind where Sergachev was at the same age right now, which doesn’t mean a lot but at least puts a little doubt in my mind about their comparative ceilings.

Stasny also did only have 1 year left. I do get what you’re saying I really just don’t think it’s possible to keep all 3 RFAs. Also I’d say Byrams skill set was more dynamic for his age and Sergechev was more defined. Sergechev was one of the most NHL ready prospects of his draft where as Byram was a celling pick.

Ya that’s legit. But under 4.5 mill for a top end defensive and pk forward who just scored 26 goals for 3 more seasons isn’t really a bad contract either. Gallagher just got 6.5 per (I realize they aren’t the same or have the same track record) But the term and cap hit with the uncertainty in the sport does make it more difficult to move. I understand the feeling they won’t be able to keep all the RFAs, I think Sergachev is the most important to the team, but if they have to move him Byram is a solid get and at least a chance he helps them stay a cup contender now.

Colorado laughs at this trade.
Byram is NHL ready but there's no need to rush him as there pairings will be.
Graves Makar
Girard Johnson
Cole Toews

They also only have 6.5 million left to sign toews and jost.

With them needing to sign Makar and landenakog next off season make this trade even less likely.
