Not saying this will happen but curious on how these moves would go:

Detroit Trades: Athanasiou

NYR Trades: Georgiev + Lias Andersson + Conditional 3rd(Becomes 2nd if Athanasiou re-signs)

Detroit does this to get a young goalie to potentially take over the crease that they haven't had since Mrazek. They take a chance on Andersson similar to previous moves.

NYR: They have a crowded crease and need to move a goalie. They get a young guy with speed who can be a high impact player with the right scene. He will fit well in NYR top 6. They get rid of Andersson's nuisance.

Thoughts?

Subsequently I would think Detroit would Trade Bernier to a team in need of a backup and keep Howard for the year and sign him again as a backup next year (unless he retires).

So Detroit's lines (when healthy):

Bert- Larkin-Mantha
Fabbri- Fil- Zadina
Andersson- Nielsen- Perlini
Glen-Ehn-Erne
Ex. Abby, Helm

Dekeyser-Hronek
Nemeth-Green
Cholowski-Bowey
Ex. Ericsson, Daley

Georgiev
Howard

Lots of Believeables and Unbelievables. Anyone able to share why they chose which one they did?

Any feedback would be great.

I like the trade. Brings in help at net a decent prospect and a pick. AA is a good player though, i like the way he plays the game and is still pretty young to fit in with the rangers plan. I think it is a good balance. Unfortunate to give up AA though even if he will be an RFA at the end of the season.
What do you think his next contract would be?

Athanasiou is having a bad year and Georgiev is younger, cheaper, and plays a more useful position. I think AA and a 3rd might get it done for Georgiev alone.

I think the unbelievable's might be concerned that's an overvalue for AA/ if you only consider this years stats I could see why anyone would think that, but if you also consider that the coach has been plugging him in with linemates he can't gel with and the fact that this years Wings team is underwhelming and spent, he looks more like a talented young forward on a team that can't showcase it well.

I like the trade for Detroit, AA is from my hometown and I'd regret losing him but if the return coming back is anything close to this I'm happy. I think Detroit may need to include a later round pick with him as well if the Rangers are putting a conditional 3rd in there?
