What do you guys think about the rumors that Laine wants 9 million per year for a 3 year contract? Is he worth 3 million more then Point that just had 92 points and 40 goals + is a center? Do Jets bite the bullet and hope he outscored this short contract?

Marner wanted $10 mln on a 3-year contract. A lot of unrealistic desires come out in negotiation (whether true or not) . He can want it all he wants; doesn’t mean he’ll get it.

If Laine wants $9 mil on a 3 year deal no wonder the Jets haven't signed him yet.

There is no way Laine deserves more than Point. 41 goals last year. More assists than Laine had points. At most Laine should get 5.5-6 over a 3 year deal.

13 defenseman had as many or more points than Laine. And their main thing is to play defense which Laine does not at all. Just food for thought.

Laine is going to have to settle for less. now that tkachuk and point are signed, the market is set. Guess they'll settle at 6.75-7.25.
