Aside from how blatantly lopsided this is.

Why do people keep putting Marincin in proposals? Why waste the energy typing his name? He's press box fodder. Or a career AHLer. His value is as close to zero as possible. I understand why you would include somebody with a terrible contract in a trade. Somebody with negative value, where the team trading said player would benefit by freeing up cap space. But Marincin is on a one year deal making $700 K. He's a warm body. A plug. His stand-alone value is a conditional 7th rounder, with some weird condition being involved. Did his inclusion in this deal somehow tip the scales? Did anybody reading this think, "ah, it's a good thing he included Marincin, otherwise this would have been totally lopsided". SMH.

Every NHL team has a AHL affiliate, NHL teams are allowed to have a maximum of 50 pro contracts.

Whether you see it or not, it’s important teams have appropriate space and flexibility for future deals. That’s why plugs and AHL’ers are usually included in trades.

Marincin is a good AHL d-man, but basically a NHL injury-bug call-up, which actually has some depth value.

Any team wanting marcinin is for ahl depth, not a star or anything close to relevant.
