Gio is like 31 or something he's got like 4 more years, Bennett is not developing and the 1st don't equal sequin whso only like 24 or soemthing.

I would do that in a second but no from Dallas. Would Dallas consider Monahan + Brodie + a medium prospect or pick? Obviously never happen but just for fun.

another steamy pile of garbage from fairtrade.

also fairly certain calgary has no issues with cap compliance.

Oh please. It's an idea. that's all. ya don't like it. tell us why.

Prior to posting your "fairly certian" ideas maybe refer to any cap site on the web to find out for sure. cap friendly is a gooder. Might want to look there before posting and making yourself look silly.

Reason the trade works.
Calgary sheds some salary on their back end and gets some desperately needed offence. Dallas acquires a decent Dman sacrificing some offence.
The trade-off here is the length of term on the 2 center pieces of the trade. Gio. signed long term, but older. Seguin younger only a few years left on the term with possibility of bolting at UFA time. Both right now are good players for their teams.
Trade evens out for now but of course risk on both sides with both players.

Could be the boost both teams need?

we don't like it cause its terrible,

Fills one hole for dallas and opens up another, trading a #1 d for a #1 center. seguin is a major upgrade over any peice included in this trade and rarely would many peices equal an overall upgrade of quality.

Try something more like monahan, kylington, 1st for sequin +3rd.

I don't think what you proposed is a bad deal player for player exchange. I'd be leary on Calgary's end though with Seguin's contract ending soon. Keeping Mono would probably be in Calgary's best interest as he's still young and long term signed. Calgary needs to move salary out of the back end and start getting top 6 forwards. They have an abundance of D-men and a lack of forwards who are realistic top 6'ers and not 4th line hard working grinders. Hamilton instead of Gio may come up in the conversation.

Dallas isn't trading Seguin and especially not for that return.

While dalas has defensive problems turning their too center into a top defenseman is not really the answer. Calgary won't move hamilton gio or brodie for anything less than a monster return. The back end becomes way cheaper next year when they shed wideman, and englund. Smid doesn't count as he will never play another nhl game.
