caps: Carlson, 2018 4th

bolts:drouin

reasons why:
caps: get younger and faster, noting they had one of the oldest teams in the nil this year.
frown can shine in Washington playing with kuzy.
caps have enough defence to be able to do this

bolts: they need a RHD and Carlson will fit perfectly in Tampa Imo.
lets them resign their rfa like Johnson and palat while filling their needs.
makes them solid overall and helps young star goalie vas

value seems pretty fair, if anything bolts add or caps don't add 4th, noting from the hall- Larson trade

1.) 04 Jun 2017 23:10:55
Value is there but imo both teams say no and IMO I'd rather have Drouin.

2.) 04 Jun 2017 23:33:46
Too big of an age gap.

3.) 05 Jun 2017 11:08:16
Carlsson > Drouin.

Carlsson is right handed and can score some points. Really good on defence as well. top 2 defenceman.

Drouin is meh, had many troubles in the past so i'm still not sure teams will pay a top 2 right hand d-man for him.

4.) 05 Jun 2017 11:55:17
TB3 he is also a UFA tho.

01 Jun 2017 22:47:40
caps: ovi, galiev, 6th

canes: Faulk, bean, aho

Samtheman88

1.) 02 Jun 2017 00:13:17
Wow. The last thing Carolina needs is to trade their young guns for older guys. No matter who it's for.

2.) 02 Jun 2017 01:19:13
No for canes. Basivly their whole future for a couple years of a star. No thanks.

3.) 02 Jun 2017 01:47:36
Try hannifan bean aho Faulk and skinner. Capitals are going to need the biggest overpayment to trade ovi.
And obviously who I said was needed was exaggerated, but caps can still win a cup, they just need to fix some things. He won't be traded.

4.) 02 Jun 2017 06:06:23
Ovie won't actually get an overpayment as you may think.
Older known on the decline and that contract hard to fit in now a days. No team will give up like 4/ 5 young building pieces for him that's for certain.
He will get a lot, yes, But not as much an overpayment as you think.

01 Jun 2017 22:46:55
bolts: Drouin(sign him first 5-6 mill)

caps: John Carson and 2018 3rd

Samtheman88

1.) 02 Jun 2017 00:54:09
Why would caps add?

2.) 02 Jun 2017 01:47:56
Pretty easy no from Tampa. Huge age difference.

3.) 02 Jun 2017 08:35:14
IMO, TB says no because Carlson is a UFA at years end. He will want a premium, which TB cannot and should not pay, considering he'll be 28 next year and will likely demand a long-term deal that seems him earn big dollars on the wrong side of 30.

If holtby was to get traded where would he go to and what for just wanna see opinions
Holtby for tkachuk, 1st, 2018 1st

Samtheman88

1.) 28 May 2017 05:16:17
What is all this about trading Holtby? i'd move Ovechkin way before i'd move him. he's what? 26, already a top 5 goalie in the league. I honestly don't see him going anywhere, he's in the same conversation with Price, Lundqvist A healthy Quick .

2.) 28 May 2017 18:15:44
lol

holtby for tkachuk and 2 firsts.

3.) 29 May 2017 02:32:57
For real, goalies don't carry anywhere near this kinda value. Think more along the lines of parson, fox and a 2nd.

24 May 2017 19:27:58
Caps-holtby
Flyers-2nd overall

Sign grubi long term, he's proving he's a #1 goalie especially after his 48 save 2-1 loss to Canada with Germany.
Helps philly with their goalie problem which they need help with to make them contenders, helps caps become faster and younger will still having a number one goalie

Opinions on who adds would be nice or is it even, I was thinking Philly adds a guy like nick cousins or something because nico(probs 2nd overall) hasn't proved anything yet in the NHL

Samtheman88

1.) 24 May 2017 19:31:27
kill me now. what's has this site come to.

2.) 24 May 2017 20:05:08
lol
2017 Vesna candidate for 2nd overall in the poorest draft year in a very long time.
Me thinks Philly better offer up perhaps Provorov, and Simmonds along with this pick to get in the ballpark.

3.) 24 May 2017 20:45:43
The draft is week but this draft reminds me of a arguing hall type draft in the first 2 guys.

4.) 24 May 2017 20:57:56
Sam that's the easiest no from caps. Ugh.

5.) 24 May 2017 21:01:51
Only because two guy have separated from the pack is it similar to hall/ seguin but the class isn't expected to be deep after that. While after those two in 2010 were still johansen, skinner, fowler, tarasenko, kuznetsov and so on. That was not expected to be a weak draft like this one is.

6.) 24 May 2017 21:38:10
the flyers have some of the best Goalie prospects in the league. they'll sign a stop gap like Ryan Miller for a year, and either use their pick, or trade it for a goal scorer. Landeskog.

7.) 25 May 2017 01:39:06
@ft4a

'Me thinks'? SOundin like Shakespeare lol.

8.) 25 May 2017 15:07:01
I love the "Grubrauer stopped 48 shots losing 2-1 to Canada so he's now a number 1 and you don't need Holtby" part lol

Sochi 2014, Latvia lost 2-1 to Canada and Kristers Gudlevskis stopped 55 shots. I was shocked when yzerman didn't cut Ben bishop AND Andrei Vaselievsky upon returning home because gudlevskis had clearly leaped them both on the depth chart. Come on.

3 seasons later he's still a really good AHL goalie who will now probably back up vasilevsky in the fall.

Holtby is a vezina caliber goalie at 27. Is it really time to push him out because his back up had a good week overseas? NO!

9.) 25 May 2017 17:49:41
BTW 2014 Sochi was Canada's A squad. The Worlds in France and Germany last week was somewhere between a b and c squad.

I know there's a 99% chance Washington won't trade holtby but if they did where would he go to and what for I wanna here what you guys think

Samtheman88

1.) 27 May 2017 23:28:24
Even spending your time thinking about this is retarded.
Franchise goalies are the most difficult thing to get.

2.) 28 May 2017 00:46:11
There is a better Chance Wayne Gretzky makes a return to Edmonton as a Franchise dman then Holtby getting traded this offseason.

3.) 28 May 2017 04:42:20
Holtby won't be moved. Not sure what he would be moved for if he did but I see a few possible destinations in no particular order.

Winnipeg- strong youth influx that could use a franchise goalie.
NY islanders- If they wanna keep JT in the playoff hunt, they need a better goalie.
Montreal- Assuming they can't resign Price. Because the Price isn't right for what they can afford 😜
Calgary- Similar to Winnipeg situation.
Edmonton- If Talbot stumbles and can't take them all the way. They would be interested. (Very unlikely choice)
Ottawa- If Anderson has injury problems and they don't have a solid goalie for after Anderson. They may inquire.
Philadelphia- Try to win in Giroux era with a stud goalie.

That's all I got. Chances are beyond reason that he goes anywhere. He will be a Capital for a long time.

4.) 28 May 2017 05:12:59
There's about the same chance of Holtby signing in the KHL as there is the Capitals trading him.

5.) 28 May 2017 05:39:28
Playing in the KHL?

There's a bigger chance Holtby changes his name to Hitler and starts curling for Germany.

6.) 28 May 2017 12:21:53
Derp derp.

7.) 28 May 2017 13:47:11
" changes his name to Hitler and starts Curling for Germany " 😂😂😂.

8.) 28 May 2017 17:22:10
@TB dfkm😂😂😂.

9.) 28 May 2017 18:32:13
Might end up being Bishop when Samsanov is ready?

10.) 28 May 2017 21:49:48
Samsonov will be the one to go if he is pushing for starter. Not Holtby.

Bishop is not as good as Holtby.

11.) 29 May 2017 03:51:33
Samsonov is 7 years younger so when he's ready they'd probably go with him. And yeah definitely it probably won't happen soon but if Washington doesn't do anything in the next few seasons it could happen.

12.) 29 May 2017 13:32:51
Holtby isn't the issue, he won't be traded.
I still think a big piece of WAS's core will be moved before they take the next step tho. Backstrom or Kuz is my guess.

13.) 30 May 2017 19:37:38
i want ovie to be traded. will help the caps and will also let him get a cup.

12 Jan 2016 04:48:21
Comment who you think the caps should try to aquire before the deadline to have more depth in the playoffs
Mine are:
JVR (when he's not ir)
Backes (rental)
Shattenkirk (he is the reason for tarasenko success don't no y they wanna trade him)
Byfuglien

Just a few names that Come to mind so please comment who you think!

Samtheman88

1.) 12 Jan 2016 05:43:34
Shattenkirk is not the reason for Taraebkos success, Tarasenko is.

2.) 12 Jan 2016 06:27:55
jvr could go i guess, price would be high and i hope he doesn't get trade, but he's a possibility.

backes isn't leaving, you do realize STL wants to win too, right?

shattenkirk could move apparently, don't really know why. i assume it'd be a more lateral trade and not him for pick and prospects since STL wants to win, like i said. Also, ho is he the reason Tarasenko is great?

buffy would be a nice addition to WSH, still doubt they'd want to pay the price to acquire him since they're doing more than fine without him.

@legion Bowey is going to be an amazing defensemen, ya he was picked 2nd round but he was a steal, mock drafts put him in the 1st round from when he was drafted he's going to be good and alzner did nothing because he was injured, schmidt just brought speed.

lol no DL7? Caps have a goalie prospect that they drafted the year before samsanov in he second round Donnie they have Copley and the other dude to trade, samsanov, Bowery and vrana are the start of there future and who says shatenkirk is a rental? Caps would be happy to resign him.
