I think your Gallagher trade for Hamilton is decent ling term, however I believe that to make a better rn Montreal needs a better offense. With the group of best players being in their prime age ( Patch, Price, Weber ECT) I think Montreal needs to make their team better in offense and not think too far ahead. Because let's be honest if it wasn't for those reason I would take Dougie anyday of the week especially with Weber being able to make him better and help him develop.

Montreal needs a Left D and not a Right D. Calgary needs a top 6 RW. Only Calgary gets what they want.

Its intriguing. however, I beleive Gallagher is what he is. a good inspirational player. Probably a career 20 to 25 goal scorer. I don't see him as a 30 goal man. But his grit and tenacity is unmeasurable.
Hamilton on the other hand . could. and that's a big could become a Norris contender. I think Habs would maybe have to add a mid level prospect or a 3rd to 4th rnd pick. .
Id be torn forsure if this deal went through.

The value is there but no from Montreal, Gallagher embodies the values that Bergevin is shaping his team with. No chance he gets traded.

It doesn't actually fill a need for Calgary if you look at it. Calgary RWs include Brouwer, Frolik, and Versteeg. There are three top-9 forwards but no bonafide top line guy, which is what they need and Gallagher is not that.
