Pass on Edmonton's part, rather just keep Nurse and a future first for Ristolainen, Justin Bailey looks like a promising top 9 forward and would be a great prospect. But Risto's defensive game is slightly overrated, compared to his offensive game, BUT he's exactly what the Oilers need, but we should just wait for bigger fish's that may become avaliable, and we would'nt need to overpay because I don't really think Buffalo is selling Risto on the market at the moment.

I cannot fathom how the hell Oiler fans could possibly decline this trade. Literally a middle pairing defenseman and forward and a mid 1st for a top pairing defenseman at 22 years old with an amazing offensive and average defensive game. I have absolutely no idea why Buffalo would do this deal though. There is no chance that Nurse becomes as good as Ristolainen. None.

Cmon oiler fans risto is a top pairing high end dman for the future. Nurse at best is top 4. He may end up just being a decent bottom pairing defenceman; who knows? We do know however that risto is a stud, and that buffalo declines this - unless that first is top 5. Then maybe. MAYBE. Otherwise, no point for buffalo, just creates a hole on defence that wouldn't be fixable.

Of course the Oilers would give more, are you guys crazy, like I just said, if a team's not selling a valuable asset, the other team is likely to overpay. Hence why the Oilers overpayed for a defensive specialist in Adam Larsson, who was unfortunately highly rated by Ray Shero who thinks he could be a potential top 2, is young and has a great contract, they waited too long and nothing was on the market. All I'm saying is they should save those assets for something as good to come avaliable so they wouldn't need to overpay.

I kinda picture nurse to become like a Scott Hannan or Brad Stuart, Marc methot kind of defenseman. Useful as heck in some situations but not top pairing minutes cruncher like a lot of oil fans believe.
