Offseason Three-way

To Edm: Hamonic, Berglund

To NYI: Shattenkirk

To STL: RNH, Reinhart

Edm gets a #1RD that they need plus a 3rd line center. NYI gets home-state boy Shattenkirk and gives Hamonic his wish to head west and Stl gets good return for the man they won't resign shattenkirk.
Thoughts?

This doesn't make any sense. So Shattenkirk for RNH and Reinhart, which is a bad and unfair trade in its own right, and then trade a number 1 you already have for Hamonic and um Berglund-? Where did Berglund come from? He wasn't in your STL for EDM trade. both the the trades and you alike don't make sense.

Why won't stl resign him.

if it helps you bender you can think of it this way - nyi and stl make the dmen swap, then stl and edm make the swap.
as for why not resign shattenkirk - cause stl has their top pairing in pietrangelo and boumeester locked long term and has parayko pushing as the 2nd pair RD and is a cheaper option. then move backes to the wing and you have a solid top 6 (top 9 really)
