To be honest, I don't see The Leafs-Coyotes trade even getting you a sniff at Matthews.

I'm not sure you trade a 60 goal scorer, especially one who has plenty of tread left on his tires.

Would a team give anything to take Brodies 5M? Wild don’t have the cap and I don’t think Brodie is a need for them.
Yeah you upgrade an 80 point guy to a 100 point guy but you trade away the future. Nylander would be a one year rental for them so I don’t know why he’d be in the trade.

I think Brodie has value. He’s a reliable dman and that can eat minutes.

- more leaf-friendly trades from the poster who goes by "Les Habitants", pretending to be a Habs fan. Hillarious!

- Brodie isn't worth ONE 2nd, let alone two.

- why would ARI want to take on all that salary for ONE YEAR of Matthews & Nylander, and trade away all those picks and prospects?

Get real. this is laughable. Treliving is a respected hockey man, but he couldn't make this deal with a gun and a mask! : )

Only way you may see Matthews in an Arizona jersey is if it's a sign and trade deal and it's done before July 1st or if he chooses to go there next year. Only reason Arizona does it is to improve revenue right away whether it be through corporate sponsors, ticket sales (all 5000 of em lol), and merch sales. They are running the risk of relocation, but adding the best player to come out of Arizona definitely helps their case. Brodie isn't worth a 2nd alone. Maybe at the deadline if his salary was much lower, but right now it would probably cost the Leafs to unload him.
