Put a better player or a good prospect along with the 2nd round pick and that'll be closer to getting Ellis.

I'd say no, because Daley is getting old and Ellis is entering his prime and I'd still rather have Ellis over Daley. But that Pouliot for Ellis is more closer than Daley.
