I base my trade on the Kesler's one to Anaheim.

Kesler (no UFA) +3rd

vs

Bonino + Sbisa+1st (24) 2014+3rd

For me, E. Staal and Kesler or the same type of player. Big two-way centers who can have 60-70pts seasons maximum and play great defense.

E. Staal had been linked to MTL for a while (P. Lebrun) .

E. Staal

vs

Fucale (no prospect goltender in CAR)
+
De La rose
+
1st MTL 2016

DLR will become the same type of player has Bonino, great 3rd center or average 2nd. Sbisa have more value than Fucale, but like i said, Staal is UFA at the end of the season, Kesler wasn't!

What do you think?

Definitely a worse package.

Carolina has Nedeljkovic who is probably a equal or higher caliber goalie prospect then fucale just to let you know.

@BJ was going to say that.

Steal won't bring the return Kesler did because Lesler was traded with a full year left on his contract and wasn't on his thirties yet either.

Funny how you say Nedeljkovic is equal or better given that Fucale has an almost identical stat line so far this year, but Fucale is only a year older and is playing in the Ahl wheras Nedeljkovic is playing in the O.

Good value but the only way Bergevin does this, is if he knows for sure Staal will resign after this summer.

Also Staal is likely to ask upwards of 7-8M for 5-6 years, cap wise this trade doesn't work without a cap dump going the other way.

Habs don't have cap space for ES, unless CAR takes on Eller or Emelin or Desharnais
