Bo Horvat
2015 OR 2016 1st Round Pick

Kessel along with the Sedin's will make for one NASTY line, better than one with Vrbata. This trade will save the Leafs $3 million in cap and 7 years of term which is HUGE for them. Along with that, they got 2 good prospects in Horvat and the 1st round pick. Horvat is in this trade because chances are, for many years to come, he will never be a 1st liner over there because of Henrik Sedin. With that being said, with the Leafs rebuilding, it makes sense for them to stock up on as many prospects as possible so adding Horvat and another great prospect.

Good trade but Vrbata isn't a cash dump tho! He is still a decent second liner that can score 20-25 goals when he's not injured. as a Leafs fan I would do that trade in a second, but maybe not from a Vancouver stand point. Just my opinion tho.

The Sedins are turning 35 this year,so I have a bit of a hard time thinking they will be top line players for years to come and long enough to make Horvat never become a top line player there. They are at a stage where they need to start planning to replace them when the time comes likely in the next few seasons. I also don't think Leafs shedding cap space is huge for them because they don't need the space they aren't looking to sign guys to big contracts to make a run they are going to be getting young guys on cheap deals NHL level experience. Cap will soon become something they can play with and part of that will come from unloading their current contracts but I wouldn't take less value in order to dump salary if I was them

like the trade but maybe take out vrabata and add a worse player for the cap dump cause he's still pretty good. overall I like the trade tho

Horvat is staying in Vancouver. He will be vancouvers second line centre. I don't want kessel on my team

Horvat is going to be a great player, better than Kessel in 3 years , Toronto can keep thier superstar.
