A trade between two teams that need a shake up (if st louis loses to the wild) and are in a win now mode.

Pit - Evgeni Malkin, Chris Kunitz, Brian Dumoulin
Stl - Alex Pietrangelo, Paul Statsny, Patrik Berglund

Pittsburgh lineup:
David Perron - Sidney Crosby - Patric Hornqvist
Patrik Berglund - Paul Statsny - Kasperi Kapanen
Pascal Dupuis - Brandon Sutter - Beau Bennett
Alex Pietrangelo - Derrick Pouliot
Kristopher Letang - Ollie Maatta
Scott Harrington - Ben Lovejoy

statsny and berglund create a solid two way line that could chip in offensively and could be counted on to shut down the other teams top line on a nightly basis and take some pressure off the defence. Pietrangelo can play huge minutes and allows pitts to rest both maatta and letang on the second line so they aren't counted on for so much minutes which would hopefully lower their chances of injury. This trade would hopefully make pittsburgh a much better two way team.

St. Louis lineup:
Jaden Schwartz - Evgeni Malkin - Vladimir Tarasenko
Alexander Steen - David Backes - Tj Oshie
Chris Kunitz - Jori Lehtera - Ty Rattie
Kevin Shattenkirk - Jay Bouwmeester
Carl Gunnarsson -
Robert Bortuzzo - Brian Dumoulin

This trade gives st louis the scariest top 6 in the nhl. Their new top line would be one of the best in hockey if not the best. This trade also allows them to keep their forward depth especially if vladimir sobotka came back. This trade would leave a hole in their top four which is not ideal but they shouldn't have a problem attracting free agents like mike green, or cody franson because they would be cup favorites. they also could look to make another deal dangling oshie, fabbri, or barbashev in order to get defensive help

IF this trade would take place, which I highly doubt. I would enjoy watching Malkin playing along side Tarasenko a fellow Russian. I'd prefer Tarasenko in a Pens jersey instead, though.

I don't think St.Louis would like to leave such a gap on their D-core.
