No thanks from T.O. Santorelli playing a great 2 way game with more responsibility and ice time. We need that second rounder for more prospects in a deeper draft. Richards is badly regressing and is overpaid at the moment. don't even think the cap works for this deal to go thru.

So many things wrong with this.
1) Richard's contract - for a team already struggling with the cap, how is bringing on a bigger salary going to help?
2) why is Toronto giving up the 2nd? They are helping LA with their cap situation
3) Santorelli can probably be re-signed for half of what Richards makes and is more productive.

Richards is playing 4th line minutes on la. He is far from a 4th line player. He would slot into top 6 on the leafs. Leafs would obviously need to make a second trade. richards has better Corsi/ possesion numbers then all but 2 players on the leafs. Exact player leafs need. ( - the 5 year term left )
