Sign Micheal Del Zotto (offer him the same contract as Meszeros), Jamie McBain & Andrei Loktionov, (resign them to two way contracts if possible) as a projects and Andre Benoit as a mentor. Trade Myers & Phil Varone for a project, a prospect and pick: Brendan Smith, & 2015 1st. If Murray did this, Buffalo would have a totally new defense not one that allowed over 34 shots per game (3rd worse in the league).
The defense would have two veterans & five former 1st round picks:
Josh Gorges----------Michael Del Zotto
Andre Benoit----------Brendan Smith
Andrej Meszaros------Mark Pysyk
Jamie McBain

Tim Murray would be hoping for the same results from Del Zotto as he is expecting from Meszaros, a comeback season so they could be traded at the deadline. Imagine for a moment that Myers is traded for a 1st and both Del Zotto and Meszaros have rebound seasons and then are traded. Murray could be looking at 8 picks in the 1st 2 rounds in an incredibly deep draft.

Maybe Kindl and a 2nd, in which case Meszaros could play top 4 and kindl could be top 6 and be there for the near future as a promising top 6 for 2.4m.

If Kindl and a 2nd is all that DET is offering then there will not be a deal. The reports indicated, BUF wanted a high pick, a young player and Jurco. I would trade Myers after signing Del Zotto and keep Ristolainen in the minors. I believe Murray is looking to trade Meszaros and he could do the same with Del Zotto. Finally, I think Del Zotto will sign for close to $4MM.
