Jets to Habs - Birmistrov

Habs to Jets - Carey Price's goal stick

Birmie just can't seem to get a break!

habs to jets: gallagher
jets to habs: a bag of pucks and myer's stick.

that's what your trade sounds like. troll much?

2.) 14 Dec 2016 13:16:08
Well the troll worked on you Kaner!

Lyle Richardson of Spector's Hockey reported that since Galchyenyuk is out for some time, Bergevin may be looking at Birmistrov as a temporary depth replacement.

What's he worth? A 5th, 6th or 7th?

Has anyone heard of a Pavelic to the Kings rumor?
For who?

slug

1.) 17 Oct 2016 14:06:15
Nope. And if Quick somehow ends up out for the year, they won't settle for Pavelec. They'll take a much bigger name like Bishop or Fleury.

2.) 17 Oct 2016 14:58:46
Why would they pay the price for Bishop or Fluery? Pavalec would be a good option.

3.) 17 Oct 2016 15:24:31
^ @hugecaosfan what do they do at the end of the year when they give away a top goalie for nothing to the expansion team.

4.) 17 Oct 2016 17:40:15
Bishop is a a pending free agent anyway. So you can consider him as what in baseball they call a "rental. " Then they can protect Quick.

5.) 17 Oct 2016 18:17:24
How is Pavelec a good option? He got sent to the minors by Winnepeg. Tough to do these days.

6.) 17 Oct 2016 18:48:17
Acquiring Bishop would essentially allow them to compete this year while not affecting their future in goal. That being said with no inclination to resign him i'm not sure what they would be willing to give.

7.) 17 Oct 2016 19:18:47
Because they only need a goalie for 1 year. Quick will be back next year. Bishop only has 1 year left on his contract.

8.) 17 Oct 2016 19:38:35
LA may need a quality goalie if Quick decides to go the surgery route over rehab. Bishop would be a good option to go after but when weighing in the question of the cost, it would be HIGH for LA. Why? Consider this: it's already known that Yzerman is weighing keeping Bishop and letting him walk or trading him for assets. TB is going to be a strong playoff contender this season so that's not an easy choice. To make the decision to move him this early in the season would require a very good return in spite of his UFA status. Add to that the fact that LA would be reaching out almost in desperation, TB is at an obvious advantage in this situation. If I were TB and actually decided upon making that trade, I'd be asking for Enroth, LA's top prospect, and a mid-round pick for Bishop and a late pick. And if that doesn't work for LA, well, then Bishop helps TB reach the playoffs and maybe win the Cup this year. TB holds all the cards in this situation.

That said, I don't see it working for either team regardless. Too expensive for LA, and too early for TB to move Bishop.

9.) 17 Oct 2016 20:12:51
Chirp is completely right. Bishop would be nice for LA, but he will cost them too much to acquire him. For all the goalies that are considered to be on the "block", Pavelec is the best option for LA.

10.) 17 Oct 2016 20:22:30
Pavalec isn't needed in Winnipeg but he can still keep a good team afloat. But Quick is out for a full season? I didn't know that.

11.) 17 Oct 2016 21:10:28
He's the right guy to lead them to 8th in the division. You are 100% right on that.

12.) 17 Oct 2016 22:10:45
You can ask for Enroth but he plays for the leafs.

13.) 17 Oct 2016 22:37:21
Pavalec has never had a cup contending team in front of him. could be interesting.

14.) 18 Oct 2016 00:17:26
lol @ JF12, Pavelec has barely had a playoff team in front of him.

15.) 18 Oct 2016 00:37:50
HA! Good catch, Leafs17. I'm living In the past. Haha.
Darn you smart leafs fans. Both of you. :P

Kuemper outta Minne seems like the next best bet by my thoughts. He's played NHL, he's semi-proven, he would be cheap. Could see Martinez and a late pick for Kuemper and a 2-3rnder.

16.) 18 Oct 2016 12:29:52
About the team in front of Pavelec, he made it to the playoffs with them a few years ago, so it's hard to say that.

17.) 18 Oct 2016 13:00:32
How about Howard from the Red Wings?

25 Jun 2016 23:52:55
To Edmonton: Trouba
To Winnipeg: Puljujarvi

To Carolina: Little
To Winnipeg: Aho

Winnipeg's new "Finish Line".

3.) 26 Jun 2016 16:26:12
Edmonton says NOOOOOOOO Thank you.

4.) 26 Jun 2016 20:48:09
Jets would do the Edmonton trade but no to Carolina.

07 May 2016 01:05:27
Based on an assumption that Toronto drafts Laine.

To Columbus: Winnipeg's 1st round pick (2nd overall) and their second 1st round pick (22nd) .

To Winnipeg: Columbus's 1st round pick (3rd overall) and Seth Jones.

Columbus gets the big centre they need in Mathhews plus whoever he pick at 22nd.

Winnipeg gets Puljujarvi and Jones.

slug

1.) 07 May 2016 08:21:06
I don't think Matthews is going to drop to #2 for Columbus in your case.

Seth Jones is worth waayyyyyy more.
Young player with a high ceiling that was recently drafted?
he is worth more than a 22nd plus 1 spot higher in the draft.

18 Mar 2016 16:01:08
Draft day trade.

Assuming Edmonton has the 2nd or 3rd pick.

To Jets: 2nd or 3rd pick.

To Oilers: Trouba and Jets 1st round pick obtained from Chicago (26th or 27th)

slug

1.) 18 Mar 2016 17:51:32
Winnipeg is ok without that trade unless they can't resign trouba.

2.) 18 Mar 2016 18:03:38
I think that's pretty solid. They'd get Chychrun to solidify the top 4 and a top line winger.
Is Trouba worth moving down 20+ spots? I think it's a decent option.

3.) 18 Mar 2016 23:15:11
Trouba is good, but as a RFA who will have a vote salary once resigned will be a problem, so moving down 20+ spots is not enough, too bad Winnipeg has Chicagos pick, overall they would need to add a bit more.

I know this may be a stretch but there's a good article on Justin Pogge in the Hockey News.

Would the Kings be interested?

He would come on the cheap.

slug

1.) 16 Dec 2016 18:24:44
I think they're just going to stick with Zatkoff and Budaj.

2.) 18 Dec 2016 08:16:26
Lol is Pogge even an AHL caliber goalie? That's stupid, I'd take Zatkoff, Budaj or Jack Campbell over him, even if they aren't anything special. At least the first 2 guys are somewhat proven.

3.) 19 Dec 2016 00:42:44
Lyle Richardson is still reporting today that the Kings are looking for a goaltender? However, they have cap problems. That's why I mentioned Pogge who would probably come back to the NHL for next to nothing. His numbers in Europe (albeit not NHL caliber) aren't too bad?

4.) 19 Dec 2016 04:37:28
Let Pogge stay one Europe ✌️.

5.) 19 Dec 2016 04:37:54
Oops *in Europe*.

slug

1.) 16 Dec 2016 04:30:00
Doubt it. How would he be an upgrade over Budaj?

30 Jun 2016 01:38:36
What is Trouba really worth?
If he signed a $47 million rumored offer sheet with Boston he would actually make more in his 1st year of the deal than Steven Stamkos would make in his. ($9 million vs $8.5 million)
I'm having a day mare!

slug

1.) 30 Jun 2016 13:51:20
Stamkos has an 8.5 mill cap hit but makes 9.5 each of the first 5 years. Also taxes make his take home much higher than Trouba.

Devils add?
Hellebuyck's save % at this point in the season is better than Schneider"s.

Anything to even remotely improve the Jets abysmal goaltending play would be welcome. Chevy may be ruining Hellebuyck with him playing in the NHL too early in his career. His confidence is kaput!

Not worth much.
