Thankfully this should finally put an end to the pro-Hab Domi for Laine post.

2.) 06 Oct 2020 20:22:36
Fair value trade. I don't think any unbiased poster expected Domi to return more.

3.) 06 Oct 2020 20:31:51
Ya, and Habs sent a 3rd. I dunno. not sure how i feel about this.

4.) 06 Oct 2020 20:49:52
Max Domi and a 3rd for Josh Anderson.

5.) 06 Oct 2020 21:58:50
Anderson is a power forward I assume they did their due diligence and have come to the conclusion his shoulder has healed and he’s ready to go. He should be at worst a 20 goal guy who is beast along the boards and in front of the net. he will lead the team in hits and stick up for teammates. players who do this are going to cost you as they are very rare these days. ask yourself who was the last one the Habs had? Also I think his new contract will probably be less then domis which if it is will tilt it more to Montreal favour.

6.) 06 Oct 2020 22:12:33
No one had Domi being traded for Laine but he was an important piece because Winnipeg needs a 2C. And guess what that’s why Columbus traded for Domi, they need a 2C. I’ll admit I thought Domi had more value than that though. The guy had a 70 point season.

7.) 06 Oct 2020 23:09:27
I love the trade personally. Josh Anderson tried to play through the pain last season. I can see Julien utilize Anderson kinda like he did with Lucic. At the end of the day. Anderson is a better winger then Domi. Domi easily loses battles in the corner. And his defensive game sucks. Andrew Shaw really helped him his first year with the habs taking responsibility of the centre defensive game. Just think about it, Drouin and Suzuki setting you up passes. I’m very excited to see that trio. Max Domi was also a downer. Being the age of 25 and still putting yourself down constantly kinda scares me. At the end of the day yes the jackets got the better players. we’ll see how he’s utilize under torts system. I’m excited for this season!

8.) 06 Oct 2020 23:14:52
I think Columbus did well here. If Anderson rebounds it will be fair.

9.) 07 Oct 2020 00:13:41
Montreal needed size but I think Domi is just as good, if not better. More versatile also.

10.) 07 Oct 2020 00:33:10
habby and Jake., hope you guys are right. I am pessimisticly excited bout Anderson lol. I really hope he becomes a power forward the Habs haven't had in years.

Habs: Max Domi

Jackets: Josh Anderson

The habs get a big body who can put up 20-30 goals. The jackets get a #2 centre to replace Wennberg when they potentially buy him out.

been hearing lots on this. Not a horrible idea, i just wonder of Anderson is over rated? I'm not to sure, I know he had a decent season not to long ago, however he's been injured alot. Would Habs be getting a top 6 power forward, or a 4th line guy?

2.) 05 Oct 2020 19:20:19
Yeah it’s really getting speculated. Anderson is a 6’ 3” 225 lbs beast. He can play top 6 easily. Don’t look at his season numbers this year. He went through a lot with injuries. I would rather trade Domi here because Danault and gallagher are getting raises. The kids contract are coming up. So we need to save some money. The thing with trading the first rounder this year is kinda sketchy. What happens if Hendrix Lapierre falls to 16th. I’m personally running to the stage. They’re so many young 50/ 50 prospect who can become “superstars”. Lapierre is one guy I’m ready to take over Domi all day. The kid has probably one of the best iq in this draft. The only risk is he has had head injuries already. Going back to Anderson. He will improve the top six. Especially playing with Suzuki and Drouin. Ouf that line would make you work. He can play top6, 2nd pk and pp minutes. He’s got a good puck possession and takeaway to giveaway ratio. He had a lower body injury this year so nothing concerning.

3.) 05 Oct 2020 20:12:39
Thanks for the info, I not opposed to it, Anderson gets a lot of hype on here, so i'm jus kind of skeptical, as honestly I don't know enough about him. But, he is what the Habs need, a big strong forward who can put in 25 goals.
Id hate to see Domi go, after 1 bad season, but if it was something that can make the team better, sure.

4.) 06 Oct 2020 01:00:17
I agree mtl needs a finisher, which is why kovalchuk worked so well. I would give domi a real chance at the playoffs though. If they get danault gally and domi playing well on a line, that could be a great playoff line.

Jets: Laine

Habs: Domi, Caufield, Mete, 2020 1st round pick

Jets can look into flip that first to NYR for Deangelo. He would be a power play machine for the jets.

Jets get potentially a 30 goal scorer in caufield.

The Jets don't want Domi as part if any package, so they say no.

2.) 26 Sep 2020 15:11:57
Very easy no from Winnipeg.

3.) 26 Sep 2020 15:13:20
Thats an over payment from Montreal.

4.) 26 Sep 2020 18:10:36
Too much for Laine

5.) 26 Sep 2020 18:35:20
You’re kidding right? That’s not enough? Are y’all expecting a brinks truck for this guy. You would be getting Domi who can play the 2C and put up over 60 points. Caufield a potential goal scoring machine. Mete who has very good possession numbers. Probably one of the quickest D I’m the league. A first round pick in probably one of the deepest drafts we’ve seen recently. What more do you want. Elaborate on what you expect in a trade. The Thompson family probably won’t want to pay this guy 10+ million. Winnipeg can’t afford him tbh. And he’s not getting the first line minutes he deserves.

6.) 26 Sep 2020 18:40:27
Can someone take IJ and Marcus off repeat please?

7.) 27 Sep 2020 01:12:50
Massive over payment from montreal.

8.) 28 Sep 2020 14:04:26
ABSOLUTE NO from MTL.

03 Jan 2018 20:50:16
MTL: Pacioretty
PITS: Sprong, Maatta and conditional 1st round pick 2018 or 2019 "if Pittsburgh make the playoffs"
Max doesn't look the same on the ice and Montreal need to start retooling the team

jakevero

1.) 03 Jan 2018 22:44:55
Massive over payment. Patches is having such a bad year and his value is way down.

2.) 03 Jan 2018 23:03:10
Salary cap? Penguins already have a goal scoring winger that doesn’t do much else in kessel. Problem is he makes a lot more money. Patches would be a nice cheaper replacement but until a lot of money is moved out, I don’t see this as possible. And if someone was to take kessel, you wouldn’t get the value for him that you will pay for pacioretty because the cap hit, then you give up more assets for patches. In the end the teams worse, you just shed a bit of salary.

3.) 04 Jan 2018 03:50:42
If Montreal gets a 1st and a prospect for Patches they should take it. I doubt any team will give up a roster player. If they do it will not be a young defender.

Rumour
Sharks: Pavelski
Penguins: Kessel
Apparently there's something going on between malkin and kessel. I can't see this trade going through since I believe Pavelski is the more complete player.

jakevero

1.) 13 Jul 2017 05:28:20
Laughable from the Sharks.

2.) 13 Jul 2017 20:31:20
Would take a lot more than kessel to get pavelski. Penguins might be retaining again so phils $8mill could be coming on 3 cheques from 3 different teams.

3.) 13 Jul 2017 21:11:41
Also kessel led the Olympics in scoring while playing wing on pavelskis line. IF* sharks have interest in him, I'm sure they are well aware of that connection and that could be part of the plan. Bringing Thornton back and giving burns, pavelski and vlasic long term deals says that's their core and they're riding that for the next few years at least.

4.) 14 Jul 2017 14:01:05
It's not Laughable Kessel is younger.

Do you want Suzuki or KK as well?

This move would potentially be purely for a deep playoff push. I don’t see rnh being the biggest upgrade of Danault. Yes offensively better but I believe Danault is a better defensive player which the habs need to keep. After this season I see Nuge asking for 6-7 million per year which the habs just can’t afford to keep.

When did Winnipeg say Morrisey is on the market? Morrisey was recently signed long term for a solid contract. He’s probably the only capable left handed top 4 defender on that team. And who’s O’Connor. Never heard of him.

Yeah boys it is what it is. It seems that Chevy had no other choice. No one wanted to pay the price on laine. The jets didn’t get a bad return whatsoever. I just expected laine to get a haul in the off-season. Dubois is one hell of a player tho! Apparently laine and the jackets already discussed a contract extension @Notacasual.

Wow jets really overpaid on this guy. As much as I like Dubois. Laine is a player with generational talent. Columbus got a haul good for them the fans deserve it hand down. THANK GOODNESS Montreal didn’t over bud for this guy. It’s being speculated that Montreal’s offer was KK+Caufield+Byron+1st round pick. Nobody was beating the jets offer lol.
