If Hall tells the Devils he wants to win a cup and refuses to re-sign:

Devils: Hall
Jets: Laine, 2020 1st (if Hall re-signs)

Jets can afford to re-sign Hall since trading away Trouba and gives them the final piece on offense

I mean, does this really make sense for Winnipeg?
Hall is going to ask for around 12M AAV.
Winnipeg still needs to pay Roslovic and Kyle Connor this year and then Josh Morrissey the following year.

I love Hall, but I wouldn't give up Laine not knowing that he'd resign with my team.

2.) 19 Aug 2019 19:31:44
Hall won't resign in wpg so won't happen.

3.) 19 Aug 2019 20:02:46
Even if Hall wanted to resign in Winnipeg he would want way too much money and term. I would rather pay a 21 year old Laine big money and term then a 28 year old in November, Hall who is coming off a serious injury.

4.) 20 Aug 2019 00:16:00
Winnipeg would say no for all the reasons listed above.

Devils: Michael McLeod, Sami Vatanen, 2021 2nd (if Vatanen is on team in April 2020 but does not re-sign)

Ducks: Cam Fowler

Gives Ducks a familiar face who is also a pending UFA and talented trade chip if they continue shipping players out in the rebuild. Also a RD to play with Lindholm. Gives Devils an LD for the top-4

Hall - Hischier - Palmieri
Bratt - Hughes - UFA (Donskoi/Connolly/Pavelski/Lee)
Zacha - Zajac - Coleman
Wood - UFA/Rooney - Hayden

Fowler - Subban
Smith - Severson
Greene - Butcher

Schneider
Blackwood

Sami Vatanen>Fowler.

Offseason trade:

Devils:
-Will Butcher (RFA)
-2019 2nd rd. pick (via BOS)

Canucks:
-Olli Juolevi

Devils get a bigger body to put on their d-core; Nucks get the more established player

Yak64

1.) 03 Mar 2019 20:09:58
I personally don’t think Juolevi can get that in return. Too much. Butcher’s a 40 point dman and that looks like it’ll be a high 2nd, Juolevi is not that good imo and from what I’ve heard from people who’ve played against him. Soft.

2.) 03 Mar 2019 20:27:45
^why would boston's 2nd be high? do you know something we don't.

3.) 03 Mar 2019 20:36:27
No from Van, I don’t think we should give up on Juolevi yet, he had a great start to the year before his injury. It’s a good idea though.

4.) 04 Mar 2019 01:08:11
My bad pav didn’t realize it was Boston’s, in that case, still no from New Jersey.

5.) 08 Mar 2019 15:19:30
Juolevi is no good and now he’s hurt. Why waste assets on someone that may never even play nhl full time. If anything the pick goes to Jersey. And they still say no.

Devils:
LW Marcus Johansson

Capitals:
2019 2nd round pick
conditional 2020 2nd round pick (if Mojo re-signs or if WSH wins 2019 Cup)

Devils try to maximize Mojo's value before UFA. I don't think Washington ever wanted him gone; it was a numbers/cap move

Yak64

1.) 17 Feb 2019 05:15:59
Too much. He was originally traded for only a 2nd + 3rd. Now he’s a pending UFA and injury prone and isn’t producing at the same level. The conditional pick isn’t necessary as Johansson isn’t going to be a major reason Washington wins again.

2.) 17 Feb 2019 06:08:21
1) He was a cap squeeze. Washington was out of money after the Kuznetsov extension and needed to make a move fast. Mojo was traded within hours of that announcement

2) 2nd and 3rd vs. 2nd and conditional 2nd? Seems even if not in favor of the first go

3) Pending UFA is more valuable – leads to more flexibility for cap constrained team

4) Mojo: 5 in his last 4, 10 in his last 12.injury prone is one thing but Washington isn't buying him on an 8x8. He has 4 months left on his contract. Worse than when he was traded? Yes, but that was a career year for him and I don't think Washington is concerned about who they would be acquiring

5) If WSH wins the cup, the Devils do not want to trade Mojo for #62 overall. That's not worthwhile. Without conditional 2nd, Devils don't make that trade, would either trade him for a prospect or try to re-sign him.

3.) 18 Feb 2019 01:11:43
I don’t even think he is worth a second. Grabner went for a 2nd. He is a lot better.

Devils:
-Damon Severson

Oilers:
-Darnell Nurse

Sign Stone...

Hall - Hischier - Stone
Bratt - Zacha - Palmieri
Coleman - Zajac - Noesen
Wood - Boyle - Anderson

Nurse - Vatanen
Greene - Santini
Mueller - Butcher

Blackwood
Schneider

Yak64

1.) 09 Jan 2019 03:37:46
Why tf would oilers do that lol.

2.) 09 Jan 2019 03:46:13
Lol what? I'd rather Nurse for sure.

3.) 09 Jan 2019 14:27:08
The Oilers desperately have to make some moves but this trade would make them weaker.

4.) 09 Jan 2019 23:44:30
The oilers need defense not to send away one of their only compitent players at that position.

As a devils fan I can see it. Wood is a good goal scorer and has the size and speed that teams love. He’s definitely more valuable than pool party but I think the 3rd makes up for it nicely. Deal.

Flat out not true, coming from a Devils fan. He had 40 points and by the end of the year was playing fine in all situations. Devils if you recall have a good PK every year. He’s also a major asset on the power play and at evens.

Devils fans say yes but ask Oil if they have preference between Sevs and Sami Vatanen

Nurse - Vatanen
Greene - Butcher
Smith - Santini/ Mueller.
