Habs: Shea Theodore

VGK: Romanov and Drouin.

Wgmj68

1.) 21 Jul 2021 17:19:44
Not even close lmao your trades are brutal. No from VGK.

2.) 21 Jul 2021 19:24:08
Vegas keeps their guy.

Romanov has potential but why on earth would Vegas even think about trading a good defenseman for a winger who gets paid the same amount and produces less points?

19 Jul 2021 13:56:25
Habs: M. Tkachuk

Flames: Gally and 2nd round pick.

Wgmj68

1.) 19 Jul 2021 15:09:32
Not even close to getting Tkachuk.

2.) 19 Jul 2021 18:30:19
LOL, Calgary blocks the entire Montreal area code.

3.) 20 Jul 2021 17:12:30
MTL would NEVER trade Gallagher, who will be their next Captain.

4.) 20 Jul 2021 18:00:19
@Chickenfoot

They wouldn't trade him for fair value but for a huge overpay like that sure they would.

5.) 21 Jul 2021 16:01:51
Gally doesn't produce much during the playoffs. Just look at his career playoff stats thus far. Habs need more output from a forward who will earn north of 6 million over the next 6 years.

Habs: Monahan

Flames: KK and Drouin.

Wgmj68

1.) 19 Jul 2021 15:10:41
I don’t know. I honestly don’t think Calgary should trade Monahan yet, his value is the lowest it’s ever been. I say no from Calgary just because of that but also big no from Montreal aswell.

2.) 19 Jul 2021 18:25:25
Calargry would be stupid not to take that.

3.) 19 Jul 2021 18:29:02
I don’t think Calgary would pass on that.

4.) 19 Jul 2021 19:25:17
KK > Monahan.

5.) 19 Jul 2021 18:27:40
@NotACasual

Agreed though I'd consider trading him Tarasenko if the Flames doctors can see his medical records, examine him themselves and the Blues either retain the difference in salary or add something.

6.) 20 Jul 2021 17:13:40
TERRIBLE trade proposal. MTL laughs at this.

7.) 20 Jul 2021 17:14:11
TERRIBLE trade proposal. MTL laughs at this.

8.) 23 Jul 2021 01:55:06
I agree it's not a good trade proposal Monahan is a good player but he seems to be going downhill for some reason.

15 Jul 2021 19:58:37
Habs: Eichel

Sabres: KK, Romanov, Primeau, plus 2021 first round pick.

Wgmj68

1.) 16 Jul 2021 05:15:03
Lol come on, buddy. Absolutely NO from Montreal.

2.) 16 Jul 2021 14:58:40
Montreal says no, but that is probably the asking price.

3.) 19 Jul 2021 14:07:33
HUGE NO from MTL.

15 Jul 2021 15:20:05
Habs: Lucic (Flames absorb 50% of his salary) .

Flames: Byron.

Wgmj68

1.) 15 Jul 2021 16:32:22
Doubt flames do it.

2.) 15 Jul 2021 16:47:30
Doubt montreal does it.

3.) 15 Jul 2021 16:51:22
Lucic has more points, and contributes way more physically. I’d much rather keep Lucic, especially if Calgary is retaining 50% of his contract. No from Calgary.

4.) 15 Jul 2021 17:13:28
Casual nailed it.

5.) 15 Jul 2021 18:15:03
Lucic is still hated in MTL for spearing groins.

6.) 16 Jul 2021 05:16:37
Uhhhhh, why would the Habs want a plug like Lucic. Makes no sense.

7.) 16 Jul 2021 14:23:06
@bossman67 why would flames want a plug like Byron? Lucic brings more to the table so it’s safe to say he’s the more valuable asset between the two.

8.) 16 Jul 2021 15:23:21
Byron is among the fastest players in the league. He is a top notch penalty killer he plays a defensive role in Montreal and matches the offensive output of lucic eventhough lucic is used in much more of an offensive role with the flames, neither player is going to make an average team a contender but Byron is considerably more valuable then lucic.

9.) 16 Jul 2021 19:21:20
@Habby2 Even if you were right (and I way you're wrong) with 50% retention the Habs would only be paying Lucic 2.625 and the Flames would be paying Byron's full 3.4 mil plus the other half of Lucic's salary.

Effectively the Flames would be paying Paul Byron 6.025 mil a year. 775k more than they pay Lucic now. Though you don't agree the Habs would be getting the more valuable player and saving 775k.

No matter how you look at it'd be a great deal for the Habs and a terrible deal for the Flames.

10.) 16 Jul 2021 19:44:48
Besides all that the Flames had Bryon in the first place. He was so impressive they put him on waivers where the Habs plucked him from. :)

11.) 16 Jul 2021 20:06:48
Even with the retention Byron has more value.

12.) 16 Jul 2021 22:58:50
MoxNix nailed it, I didn’t want to explain that thoroughly lol.

13.) 17 Jul 2021 04:45:56
Yeah and when they put Byron on waivers he was still putting up better numbers then lucic lol. go figure.

It was fun formulating all kinds of different trades recently. See you all in June a week before the draft. Lol.

Habs are pathetic. Must fire GM, coach, and trade Price, Weber, Drouin, Petry, Domi, Kovy, Thompson, Byron, Mete, Weal, and Kulak.

Cheers.

Let's all do the following exercise and compile a list of the top 10 most untouchable players in the NHL right now. Players who would demand an arm, leg, and head from other teams in a trade. Let's see...

McDavid
Draistl
Marchand
Hedman
P. Kane
MacKinnon
Kucherov
Ovechkin
Austin Matthews
Crosby

Can we all agree on this list? Perhaps we can argue to include Bergeron, Eichel, Dahlin, Marner, Tavares, Josi, E. Peterson,

Wgmj68

1.) 10 Dec 2019 22:15:25
I think some of those guys are too old to be on a most untouchable top 10 list. Eichel and Dahlin are more untouchable than anyone except for a few on that list.

2.) 11 Dec 2019 03:58:15
I agree ebbs Peterson is more untouchable then most on the list too imo.

3.) 11 Dec 2019 04:55:35
Pasternak is more untouchable than most those guys. His contract makes him more valuable than most those guys.
McKinnon, Pasta, Marchand, Makar, Drai. Are more valuable because of their current contracts.
I would have Eichel at $1.4M less than Matthews on that list before Matthews not going to lie.

4.) 11 Dec 2019 06:22:49
I think stars under 28? Somewhere around there are untouchable. the ones over that age on this list, I can't see be moved. However, ya never know
If Wayne Gretzky can be traded. twice. anyone can.

5.) 11 Dec 2019 14:53:37
I don’t think Drais is untouchable because of McDavid I feel if Columbus offered up Dubouis and Jones Edmonton would move drais. Tavares shouldn’t be untouchable.

6.) 11 Dec 2019 15:49:21
Dubois and Jones can get almost anyone in the league VB so not a great point.

I like the additions of Gourde and Hoffman. Instead of adding Hoffman though, I'd shoot for Landeskog instead. He is younger, a better leader, more solid 2 way player, and can average 60-70 points a season. Hoffman is too one dimensional like Cammalleri was.

I would covet Montour by not Hall. Hall has been grossly underperforming during the last 2 seasons.

Saad is on pace for 30 goals over an 82 game season. He's only 28 years old. Habs need another forward who can score at least 25 goals a season. Saad would fill this need nicely.

In reference to Sosahabs24 post, Habs need Malkin because he would become their desperately needed NO. 1 Center who is capable of averaging between 80-90 pts per season over the next 4 seasons. Malkin would provide the Habs with size, scoring threat and offensive prowess down the middle. He has won 3 cups already. He is still a top 10 NHL player, a 3-time champion, and a leader on the ice. That's why.
