Rumor that LA is interested in Phaneuf from Ottawa but don't want the salary. I think that Ottawa would trade Phaneuf for Gaborik+. I add the plus because phaneuf is still a decent dman that you can slot as a #4 guy or maybe a #3 guy.

SENSOTT

1.) 13 Feb 2018 16:06:09
Not bad. Obviously depends what the +is. Also gaboriks cap hit is only like 4.75 or something I thought. Phaneuf is 7, can kings absorb the extra?

I do remember the kings were one of the teams that the leafs had talked to about phaneuf before he went to Ottawa. I think the Dion/ sutter connection was talked about from Calgary days back then.

2.) 14 Feb 2018 04:41:33
Well pretty close lol sens retained 1.75 to even it out.

I saw this and I wanted to know what you guys thought about it:

To TBL: Erik Karlsson
To OTT: Vladislav Namestnikov or Tyler Johnson, Taylor Raddysh, 2 draft picks and a dman like Dotchin or Koekkoek.

IMO I don't think Ottawa would do this trade and I don't think that they will trade Karlsson until the draft or FA depending on how the contract situation is like, but I feel like this offer would be good start to a conversation about a trade between the two teams.

SENSOTT

1.) 04 Feb 2018 23:37:03
Think that's too little from TB. Unless those are two first rounders.

Cause I'm pretty sure that'll be what Karlsson is worth. This is basically what Patches is 'supposedly worth' (he clearly isn't though, that evaluation is crazy. The evaluation for Patches is moreso for a guy like EK)

A warm roster body - Johnson
A 1st - check.
Another pick - check.
A top prospect - Raddysh.

I think EK could get more, and that's why i guess you added Koekkoek. However, if the other pick is a 1st, i'd say this deal ain't too bad.

2.) 05 Feb 2018 01:23:00
So ya no chance from Ottawa.

3.) 05 Feb 2018 02:37:39
If those two picks aren’t both 1st rounds.

4.) 05 Feb 2018 09:00:56
How can OTT get more? You guys are aware that there is a 95-98% chance EK will simply leave OTT in 1,5 years for nothing. It's not like OTT needs him this or next year for a cup run, so the smartest thing is to NOT lose him for nothing. The earlier they trade him, the higher the return wil be, obviously.
This gives them a Top6 C in Johnson/ Vladdy, a #4D in Dotchin, a projected top 6 scoring winger in Raddysh and a 1st round pick. Name a team that can and will offer a better package than this for 1.5 years of EK.

5.) 05 Feb 2018 11:33:40
@TT

Personally, if Edmonton offered Drais+, Toronto offered Willy+Liljegren++, Philly offered Patrick+Sanheim++, etc. I may be more intrigured as Ottawa. Not saying any of those teams would do that, but prices will be very high, and I still think he could get more. Cause Johnsons doing meh this year, Dotchin is exactly as you said, a #4, nothing more, a prospect and two firsts. that's a good offer no doubt, but teams will probably be able to beat that.

6.) 06 Feb 2018 23:25:48
Change Johnson and raddysh to point and sergachev and you have a discussion otherwise easy no from ottawa.

Flames sign Johnny Hockey to a 6 year deal with a 6.75 million cap hit per year.

So rumors are that a "core" player is going to be shipped out of Chicago. In my opinion I think that they will trade Seabrook, What do you think Chicago can get back for him?

NOTE- Seabrook is 32 and his contract is $6,875,000 for the next 7 years. If a team were to trade for him, CHI will either have to retain salary or take back a bad contract because nobody wants to deal with a contract like that.

SENSOTT

1.) 13 Jun 2017 07:16:15
No, it won't be Seabrook. If they're getting rid of a core guy, it's almost surely Hossa.

2.) 13 Jun 2017 08:07:26
Its rumored the Hawks have had talks about Seabrook. Two Canadian teams were mentioned, Van and Tor.
I've read nothing about Hossa ever.

First it was Krugar, now they may be listening to teams intersted in Seabrook.

3.) 13 Jun 2017 10:49:04
I doubt it's Seabrook. I could see them trying to move him next season if it remains necessary to remain below the cap (kinda depends who they trade this season), but given that some teams have players exposed that could be more marketable than Seabrook given his age and contract, I doubt he is the top of any team's list. Anaheim has a dman on the block (sounds like Vatanen) and Minne is likely to move one as well (Brodin or Dumba sounds likely) . I would expect teams to throw better trades at players like that than Seabrook so it may be in Chi's best interest to hold onto him til next season when his value will likely be higher than it is right now.

4.) 13 Jun 2017 14:45:10
Heard some rumors about Hjalmarsson and that Dallas might be a good fit. It could just be the swedish media that wants to see a Klingberg-Hjalmarsson top-par, but who knows. I sould say it's all going to come down to cap vs return.

5.) 13 Jun 2017 22:56:17
Another thing that makes a Seabrook trade make no sense is that he has a NMC, and why would he want to leave a year after re-signing? I obviously don't know the guy or anything, but it's seem like a really god spot for him, as the team is still good and he's about the same age as the rest of the core group.

Can we say that Dylan Strome might be a bust or is it too early to tell right now.

SENSOTT

1.) 30 Apr 2017 22:12:15
To early. let's let him play in the NHL first.
I don't believe he's going to be an elite player. if people think jus because he was 3rd behind only McDavid and Eichel he's going to be great, that's not fair expectations. I beleive his ceiling could be that of a Jason Spezza. But I see him more as a 2nd line guy. I think he can have a solid NHL career, maybe jus not spectacular.

2.) 30 Apr 2017 22:38:12
Honestly, say what you want about Strome, but at the time, he was the best bet at #:. Marner was high risk/ high reward, HAnifin they didn't need because of OEL, so Strome fit the bill. Although he may not become as good as a HAnifin or Marner, he will be a good NHL player, probably a 50-60 point guy.

But as sosa said, let him play in the big league first, then we judge.

If the sens were to trade Bobby Ryan, who will they trade them to and for what.

SENSOTT

1.) 12 Dec 2016 07:49:13
A cap dump, prospect and/ or draft pick.

2.) 12 Dec 2016 20:33:27
Yeah they would definitely need to take a cap dump back. And then as BeeJay said either a pick or prospect.

Teams I would say could be:

Arizona (tons of space)
Calgary (RW depth is awful)
Carolina (always could use more scoring options)
LA (If they're willing to do a Brown for Ryan deal 😂)
New Jersey (lots of cap space)
Isles (maybe Ryan returns to form alongside JT)
Vancouver (reclamation project? )
Vegas (leave him for expansion so u can protect Methot, ya u get nothing for him, but 7.25 in space is actually a lot)

The thing is that many playoff teams need that middle 6 center and other than Brassard, there are not many centers on trading block. I think Pittsburgh will be the biggest player on Brassard because the need a high end 3rd line center.

Fiala is really young and is playing well for Nashville. They won't trade him.

Karlsson is UFA in 2019, not 2018 and I doubt the stars have the cap space to sign him if he goes to FA because they need to sign Seguin soon.

No from both. I don't think toronto would take Demers contract since they have a lot of players that they have to sign in the next few years and will be getting big raises *ahem* Matthews *ahem*.

They will probably try to keep Arizona's team in the west if they relocate. Most likely to Seattle or Houston. For QC to get a team, it will either be Carolina or Florida.
