EDM: 4th pick plus others
Toronto gets Tkatchuk to play with Market and Matthews (both he's played with before so instant chemistry)
Edmonotn gets a forward with size and an offensive defenseman who is cheaper than a top dman. Also opens them up to trading a forward straight up for a dman.

Gardiner is cheaper than a top dman because guess what, he isn't a top dman (which is what the Oilers need) . He doesn't shoot right and he's offensively minded, not even close to what the Oilers need. So it goes without saying that Edmonton has no interest in this as it doesn't even attempt to consider their needs.

Why would the Oilers add this much cap for a 29 year old LW who we don't necessarily need and a LEFT HANDED defencemen.
