There's some rumours that Pittsburgh is going to be blowing up the roster this summer and along with the fact that Montreal may make a big push for Matt Duchene I think this trade could make sense if they sign Duchene

Montreal: Philip Danault

Pittsburgh: Olli Maatta

1.) 15 May 2019 10:48:28
No from Montreal Matta fell of a cliff.

2.) 16 May 2019 03:42:42
Danault is a pretty good player, young, good contract. think it would be a bad idea to trade him for a project guy you hope gets back on track.

3.) 16 May 2019 09:48:32
Danault is now our Plekanec . and he was a good player. This was Bergevin best trade IMO. he won't trade him away.

4.) 16 May 2019 12:43:12
I feel Danault could fetch more

5.) 18 May 2019 21:01:11
A few years ago I would have said yes but now I would rather draft some young left handed defensemen and keep Danault. He's a guy that can be a very good 3rd liner and a good and temporary 2nd line center.

6.) 19 May 2019 00:38:28
I could've swore danault was montreals #1 center last year.

Montreal : Alzner + Hudon

Edmonton: Lucic + puljujarvi

1.) 09 May 2019 14:57:07
No wtf lol.

2.) 09 May 2019 16:10:33
Lucic can't go to MTL after spearing groins in the playoffs a few years back.

3.) 09 May 2019 20:38:53
Edmonton adds #8 and Montreal adds there 1st.

4.) 10 May 2019 05:54:47
Do not all these players suck? Why would either team make this trade? Edmonton has so very many defense make too much money. Now they need most overpaid AHL defenseman too? Lucic has no words left to be described for him. He is so very bad. He only gets points when he is lucky and the other team has flu sickness and play backups goalie. He cannot score goals but only into empty net.

5.) 11 May 2019 02:08:24
As a habs fan I would never ever touch that we have lots of bottom 6 wingers and I value puljujarvi like a 3rd round pick so ummmm no hell no.

22 Feb 2019 23:19:13
Montreal: Hudon + 5th round pick 2019

Washington: Burakovsky

Bergeron said last time the ask was lehkonen and he stopped that call right there so Hudon (23) and Burakovsky (24) both are around the same age have got 30ish pts before, both not having a great season and could use a change of scenery and systems but Hudon isn't quite as good so he adds one of the three 5th round picks this year.

1.) 23 Feb 2019 00:47:43
Dumb for caps imo.

2.) 23 Feb 2019 02:11:25
If the caps were intending on making another deal and needed to clear some cap it might make sense.

13 Feb 2019 23:08:03
MTL: Byron + Hudon + 5th round pick

NYR: Zuccarello

Zuccarello is a pending UFA, 31, just over 30 points in 40 ish games

Byron is 29, good contract, 19 points in 36 games

Both players are fast, work really hard and can play in many situations (pp pk)

Montreal gives another mid round pick and a young forward having a tough year in Hudon. Montreal might be able to sign Zuccarello after the season too. Zuccarello would be a great addition for playoffs and to the top 6 also the PP with his skill and speed.

Montreal may need to add slightly (better pick/ a prospect but not a top one)

1.) 14 Feb 2019 03:12:05
Seems like a lot to be giving up for a pending UFA. Rangers will be looking for someone younger than Byron. Usually these type of rental style deals involve picks and prospects going the other way for the UFA. Not other roster players.

08 Feb 2019 18:08:21
Montreal: takes on Lucic's contract

Edmonton: Lucic + Puljujarvi

(Armia style trade)

1.) 08 Feb 2019 18:12:34
man u literally posted the same thing before and still don't have montreal giving something back.

2.) 08 Feb 2019 18:36:33
I assume that you are trying to say Montreal should send a young player stuck in the ahl in exchange for that. Honestly don’t think it would be worth it. Better to save the cap for any future signings since Montreal is doing well enough that they aren’t selling older assets.

3.) 08 Feb 2019 19:21:52
no that's not at all what i'm saying, this is literally the second identical trade in a row where he has montreal taking a bag contract but doesn't say what they give in return.

4.) 08 Feb 2019 19:36:22
Yeah. I meant like the poster was trying to say we should do that when he says (armia type trade) . Either way you look at it. Doesn’t work for the habs.

5.) 08 Feb 2019 20:18:47
Notdelusional is right. A trade involves two teams exchanging players. No Montreal player is listed here. Maybe Jayne just expects us to use our imagination to fill in the returning player?

6.) 08 Feb 2019 21:44:54
You guys are painfully unintelligent he’s obviously referring to Future Considerations. You don’t always need to send a player back in a trade. This is a big no from Montreal Lucic is just way to bad.

7.) 08 Feb 2019 21:47:15
Maybe i was taking it too literal. i actually thought he was saying it would cost Pul to balance out the bad contract of Lucic. Habs trade future considerations and take on the bad contract of Lucic at the cost of getting Pul. Just my interpretation of it.

8.) 09 Feb 2019 00:53:21
Future considerations leaves a pretty wide interpretation. He’s leaving it up to the reader to fill in the blanks. Like ThunderTurkey, I thought Pool was the payment for Habs to take on Lucic boat anchor contract.

9.) 09 Feb 2019 01:05:08
It's not really an armia style trade in that trade montreal traded a player who was not good enough to play in the Ahl for 2 picks a player they knew would fit somewhere in their lineup and a cap dump on a not so bad deal that was easily bought out.

10.) 09 Feb 2019 04:12:12
One of Bergevins better moves.

11.) 09 Feb 2019 04:26:50
And there has been a lot of good ones Sosa.

12.) 09 Feb 2019 07:07:56
I’ll say that the Drouin/ Sergachev deal that Montreal fans got bashed for when it happened, looks like a steal for Montreal. Unless I’m missing something, Sergachev seems pretty average at best.

13.) 10 Feb 2019 03:48:38
Please trade Weber.

2019 possibilities
Evans, poehling, Suzuki, Ylonen

2019 possibilities
Brook, fleury, Romanov

Just a look at some current/ future line projections and possible prospects to be excited for as a habs fan! Definitely a lot of other good prospects that could make a splash too

1.) 17 Dec 2018 19:08:38
Jayne. I don't see any of the prospects making the team in 19. I do see maybe Evans and Fluery being injury call ups, while they develop on AHL.
Although none of those players are SuperStars. I believe one, has stardom potential that being Josh Brook. The future does look really good for Habs, and it seems that the Scouting staff has done a much better job. still these guys have to play .
Very excited to watch World Jr. as we will get to see many of the players you mentioned.!

2.) 17 Dec 2018 22:11:04
I can possibly see poehling and suzuki making next years team. the rest are at least another year away. evans might get a chance if there are a few injuries. It's really hard right now to pick who is the better prospect out of poehling suzuki and brook all 3 should be can't miss nhl players the rest are still a work in progress though.
