1.) 26 Apr 2017 22:26:09
Chucky will be on the wing and Danault will play center. Also don't have davidson on there. I don't think sergachev will be ready for the NHL this upcoming season.

2.) 26 Apr 2017 22:29:00
Some - Sure, why not.
Some - Nahh.

3.) 26 Apr 2017 23:23:07
Lol, what? Finest?

4.) 26 Apr 2017 23:32:55
This is kinda hard to understand, no offense.
Who is Jerebek?

5.) 27 Apr 2017 00:20:58
Jus seen they signed Jerebek. Still don't know who he is. but Ok.

6.) 27 Apr 2017 01:33:15
Jerebek is a smallish offensive defence men, forgot what hand he shoots but put up 5 goals and 26 assists in 59 games in the KHL. Sounds like he's good at moving the puck, although if I had to bet, he won't impact the NHL. Surprised he's coming to the NHL and getting a cheap 2 way ELC instead of making much more back in Russia. I guess there has been a lot of success stories lately (Panarin, Zaitsev, Radulov) so can't blame the guy for coming over and giving it a shot. Let's remember Phillip Larsen was playing well in the same league, came over and was a huge bust/ disappointment and headed back. He won't be a Zaitsev, probably more like a Belov. Oh ya and Montreal signed him according to Bob Mckenzie.

7.) 27 Apr 2017 04:24:53
Surprised you don't want to try and get kovalchuk too.

8.) 27 Apr 2017 04:24:55
Surprised you don't want to try and get kovalchuk too.

9.) 27 Apr 2017 05:19:50
I think we should try and get Kovalchuk.

1.) 22 Apr 2017 20:34:11
Nope.

2.) 22 Apr 2017 20:43:18
On what planet is that good for Colorado.

3.) 22 Apr 2017 20:54:38
The only really eatablished peice going back is Gallagher, there is a lot of quantity going, but not enough quality. Also., Habs need to also start thinking of future as well. So the 2 picks they need to hang on to, and not include for jus one guy. that's 5 peices for one guy. I don't know if its good for either team. For Habs, its good in short term., but this is also a team that needs to compete year in and year out, very impatient fan base. and the cupboard is looking very dry.

4.) 23 Apr 2017 01:10:17
I think Duchene to Montreal is definitely possible but coming back to Colorado would be Sergachev.

5.) 24 Apr 2017 15:42:00
Don't see it happening unless Montreal puts something with more value into the trade. Sergachev is a good start, but something else needed.
Montreal needs young salary cap friendly players right now with Price's contract coming up after this year.

Overpay for Shattenkirk, but that would probably pry him out of St Louis.

3.) 23 Feb 2017 17:26:28
Fair trade you are wrong bra
blues have zero interest in taking back an aging 30 year old dman being paid 4mil+. That dumpster fire is yours to bare.

You want shatty think off something like

stl- Shatty agreed extension

MON- 1st 2017, Noah julsen and william bitten.

Thats your second best d prospect a 1st in weak draft and center that will need to be developed.

Blues beatwriter confirmed last night on 101.1 espn that berglund has no desire to leave Blues and will sign a deal before end of season.

4.) 24 Feb 2017 21:17:12
Berglund signs very friendly deal to stay a blues.

Belieau, 1st, juulsen to Tampa

Drouin, Johnson to mon.

J_Bennerz

1.) 21 Feb 2017 03:34:06
Hahahahaha no. i'm not sold on Beaulieu and a late 1st for Johnson and hia point per game playoff production. To a division rival anyway. Adding Juulsen for Drouin makes it so much worse. Drouin won't be traded in division without a top pair D coming back.

2.) 21 Feb 2017 03:43:13
Doesn't even make Tampa think about it. Easy No. That would get Johnson as an RFA this summer probably. Or maybe drouin when he was holding out and sitting at home. But never both. I've doubted yzerman before, but have learned my lesson, he's no fool.

20 Feb 2017 23:46:08
Belieau and 1st to Tampa

Johnson to mon.

J_Bennerz

1.) 21 Feb 2017 00:17:48
That's a lot for Tyler Johnson.

2.) 21 Feb 2017 03:54:22
I don't think it's that much for him honestly. Johnson has struggled a bit but there's no denying his skill and how he has come up huge in big games in the past. Beaulieu and a later first I don't see as an overpayment. Johnson is cheap for this year at 3 mill and then still is an RFA after that. Habs would have a lot of leverage with a down year last season. Only 2 years older than beaulieu also.

ANyone else think habs have outlived the dredded rebuild. Habs fans are ridiculous about a possibility about a rebuild. I read/ heard about the fans/ people/ government officials in Montreal say how a rebuild will not happen since in Montreal, winning is the only thing.

1st point- Pittsburg drafted MAF 1st, Crosby 1st, Malkin 2nd they won 2 cups (granted 2nd cup was with Murray)
Chicago-Kane 1st, teows top 10 I think
Regardless those teams were rubbish and look where they are now.

2nd point- not ever rebuilding is the ****ing dumbest thing I've ever heard. What's going to happen is constant top 10 in the NHL in points until price retires, one shot season, draft goalie and waste his years trying to win with rubbish guys.

3rd point - sweet Jesus that plekanec 6 mil contract this year is going to kill us in free agency and resigning.

4th point- crappy drafting like just draft centres only and hope one works out.

J_Bennerz

1.) 21 May 2017 08:38:34
I think they should stop putting players higher on their draft ranks because they are French-Canadian. That would solve some problems.

2.) 23 May 2017 04:04:29
I agree with TB3, does the name Louis Leblanc ring any bells.

25 Apr 2017 02:17:20
I'll be the first to say I'm probably a hypocrite saying habs should rebuild and now saying they shouldn't. Seems as though price, markov, and radulov are willing to get paid less in order to make habs a good team.

Think about a price trade. A team would have to destroy a big part of their team to afford him/ get him and resign him. Looks at hawks. Kane and toews are paid 21 mil just the two and the team can't afford anyone else because of it.

They all wanna stay with habs and with the possibility of a year long deal for kolvalchuk there could be some more promise. I could see habs trading rights to galchenyuk for kovalchuk and another player possibly.

I do like plekanec but think 6 mil a year is gross. Maybe like 3 max as he's a really good def. centerman just can't get points like in his 20's. I could see them giving him up and then him signing with them next year for a lot less.

Maybe see a belieau trade for a younger forward as sergachev would for sure take his spot, even juulsen. But with the additions of Davidson and Ben I can see him being oddman out.

Just after what price said and the rest of them like I can see some possibly future success.

23 Apr 2017 23:43:24
I think part of the reason Montreal is bad is the negativity in the media and the fan base. Look at all the other original six teams (maybe minus Toronto) . They can hire any coach/ GM and the media/ stress is nothing compared to Montreal.

Now Julian is a fantastic coach don't get me wrong but I cannot understand how if Babcock or quenville got fired and Montreal didn't have Julian, they wouldn't hire them because they don't speak French. Same goes for GM. I think MB had the perfect role when he was with Chicago but is not that good as a GM in charge of trades and signing players.

I wouldn't say MB has made bad trades but hasn't made necessarily impactful ones. He got petry and Weber. Been and Davidson are nice additions and radulov was a good sign however plekanec conctract. Emelin contract. Not drafting any good venters (27 is a bust) . I think it's time to give up this French bulkshit and hire a capable GM.

Enough French this and that and start a rebuild.

J_Bennerz

1.) 24 Apr 2017 16:25:39
I agree that the Montreal organization should stop hiring and firing the same 4 or 5 french speaking GMs and coaches every five years. It seems like they are more focused on keeping the media happy than winning a cup.

2.) 24 Apr 2017 19:25:16
Ya. Who is next Habs coach? Carbonneau or Martin. lol.

23 Apr 2017 12:11:36
So after last nights game, habs are out. I was really hoping to see them go on a deep run and I did believe that they would only go as far as price took them. The problem is they didn't help price on bit because no one can score.

I still believe the Weber / subban trade was the right move as Weber is still a great top dman and will be long enough to allow for younger guys to move into the line up. The issue is that behind aergachev there's maybe juulsen and that's it.

Obviously julien as coach is ideal in that you won't get a better coach since the habs would never hire quenville or Babcock because they don't speak French which is absurd.

I understand what bergiven was doing acquiring guys like it and king and shaw but that series proves that he ****ed up. I think his time is over in Montreal. The problem is they need to hire a French speaking gm so the team probably won't find anyone since they are incredibly stupid about it. MB is a good assistant gm and I'd like to see him stay with the team but not as the GM.

I love patchioretty. He's a consistent streaky player who you can usually count on to anchor your top line during the season. But playoffs he's a joke. I know he had like 25-30 chances in the series but come one he didn't finish on any of them.

Because Montreal is Montreal the term rebuild doesn't exist so basically the habs will be like Detroit. Make the playoffs ever year and ruin guys like galchenyuk and Gallagher and waste their opportunity with price Weber patchioretty plekanec markov.

Behind patchioretty they don't have any solid left wingers. You could argue lethkonin but he's maybe another year or two before he'll be really good. Behind I guess plekanec you have galchenyuk (I don't even know what position he plays anymore and he's terrible at centre) . Right wing you have radulov (who may or may not resign and Gallagher)

Speaking of radulov I wish they could sign him and trade him I know he's good and led them in the playoffs but he just tries to dangle all the time instead of just passing it and then the puck goes the other way.

They need a no. 1 centermen since I do believe plekanec is still okay on that second line for maybe another year or two but doesn't deserve 6 mil a year.

They need another scoring left winger and right winger too. Galchenyuk I think should be traded as I think he's just not a good fit anywhere.

There's a lot of issues there honestly they've wasted the good years of their stars and in maybe 4 or 5 years this team will be like Arizona just garbage and a rebuild will be necessary. The fans are idiots to think a rebuild isn't coming in the near future.

1.) 23 Apr 2017 16:17:29
I agree with most of what your saying. except, Wings did win a few cups. as for a rebulid,
Other than in net, this team has needs everywhere., especially a number 1 or even 2 center. Habs had wingers playing center (Shaw) this season. Galchenyuk. ? he's a first line center, then he's a 4th line winger. I like Danault, but he is not a 1st line center, Plekanec WAS only decent center. but that time has passed.
Something needs to be done in Montreal. I wouldn't even know where to start first.

2.) 24 Apr 2017 15:30:58
Honestly don't think that they would protect Plecky for the expansion. They can use $6M better ways.

3.) 24 Apr 2017 18:56:04
I hope Vegan Golden Showers take Plekanec.

03 Apr 2017 22:19:36
What would you guys like to see changed in the NHL in the next few years?

Me personally I'd love to see:

3vs3 overtime set to 3 vs 3 for 2-5 minute periods to eliminate the potential for shootouts.

Injury time for injuries and delay of games. So like in soccer where they stop play because of an injury or something and at the end of the game (in this case each period) the referee adds some time. So example, some guy gets destroyed and has to be stretchered off and takes 10 minutes or a coaches challenge takes 10 minutes then at the end of the period the referee can add up to 10 minutes if he wants.

Time limits on coaches challenges. If the referees can't figure rubbish out in 5 minutes then call on the ice stands.

no time outs allowed because of an icing. Just let it be.

No trapezoids for goalies. If your goalie is really good at handling the puck like smith or price then they should be allowed to pull a Broduer.

What do you guys think?

J_Bennerz

1.) 03 Apr 2017 22:54:29
Well in soccer they don't stop the clock. In hockey they do. So for that reason i don't like added time they aren't actually losing time in thise.

2.) 04 Apr 2017 01:59:20
Id keep the OT the way it is. there are less shootouts now.
Id like to see the loser point gone.

3.) 04 Apr 2017 06:37:12
Wanting injury time added is literally the most stupid thing I have ever seen proposed in hockey. You do understand that in soccer the clock doesn't stop, while in hockey the clock does stop when the whistle goes, right? The goal in soccer is to get as close to the 45 minutes in the half played as possible; this is not an issue in hockey.

4.) 04 Apr 2017 12:52:01
They should keep the OT format the same, but instead change the point system to a 3-2-1-0 system. 3 for regulation win, 2 for otw, 1 for otl, and 0 for loss. Discourages teams taking it to overtime for an extra point.

I understand they aren't scoring 3.00 GPG, but why give up good assists if the team is winning. If they were scoring how they are now, and losing every game, then yes I would have said MB is ****ed, but they aren't losing. It's like saying Winnipeg can't score so let's trade laine and a 1st for duchene. Let's trade sergachev and a 1st for duchene. Laine is a monster and a 1st is typically decent (could go either way) . Same goes for sergachev. A guy who will probably be better than markov for the next 20 years possibly. He's already projected to be one of the best. He'll be a subban/ markov esk player for years to come.

Back to the scoring. Do I think they will win cup? I hope they do and anything can happen. They are winning. You think I give a rubbish if they win 1-0 or 2-1 every game? No I don't because they climb the standings and in the play offs those are the games you want to have. 2-1, 3-1, 1-0.

I agree if the team has a chance make some decent trades and pick up a scorer. With price they will begin to regain confidence and hopefully score 3-4 goals a game on average. Otherwise **** it call up some minors and let them play for a couple games to see how they do. Fire whoever runs the power play. Therrien is 50/ 50 unless he runs the power play then get rid of him and aim for Boucher.
