To flames: Matt Duchene (50% retained)

To Avalanche: valamaki+kylington+2019 1st

Duchene only has 2 years left on his contract and colarado is in the middle of a rebuild so they can afford to retain. Calgary pays a hefty price but is a legitimate cup contender next season

1.) 18 Jul 2017 04:13:10
To much for duch.

2.) 18 Jul 2017 20:18:35
So the flames will have given up their 2017 1st, 2018 1st, and 2019 1st all in one off season? Not a chance any sane team does that.

3.) 18 Jul 2017 23:47:30
CGY didn't trade the 2017 1st. They used it to draft Jusso Valimaki at 16 OA.

4.) 19 Jul 2017 05:25:00
Didn't the Rangers trade their 1st round pick away like three straight years in a row? Pretty sure it was them. One of the years was when they traded for Marty STL.

5.) 19 Jul 2017 13:10:30
SC4CGY - if you actually look at the trade proposal you will see Valimaki is included in the trade. Now, I'm no self proclaimed genius, but it doesn't take one to realize trading Valimaki is the exact same as trading their first round pick this year.

They traded their 2018 first for Hamonic, so trading Valimaki (2017 1st) and their 2019 1st is trading three years worth of 1st round picks is it not?

I'll wait to be corrected.

To New Jersey: Gudreau+ 1st 2017(17th)+ Kylington

To Flames: Schnieder + 1st over all

Hear me out.
I love Gudreau but he belongs in the east the west is about size, plus him and hall were unstoppable in the all star game. Kylington has great potential.
Calgary can draft either Patrik or Heisher, I say go with Patrick and then move bennett to the wing and you are stacked up the middle. Calgary also gets the #1 goalie in Schnieder.

1.) 02 May 2017 17:58:27
Dont judge anything by an Allstar game.
Neither team will do this. Why would New Jersey give there best 2 assets away.
Flames should look at a Fluery deal or signing Bishop.

2.) 02 May 2017 18:06:00
Need me some more popcorn.

3.) 02 May 2017 18:15:15
This is actually so stupid for New Jersey oh my god. Only reason devils had any life is because they have an all star goaltender but yeah man let's trade him? Give me a break. Biggest overpayment iv ever seen for Gaudreau, the other first and kylington aren't even close in making up for the value.

4.) 02 May 2017 18:24:05
Clear no from both teams.

5.) 02 May 2017 19:26:32
Uhhh easy no from Jersey and yes from Calgary!?
1st Overall >> 17th Overall + Kylington
Schneider >> Gaudreau
Take out the 1st overall and add a 2nd rounder or something and it's closer.

6.) 02 May 2017 21:07:27
I do think New Jersey should trade Schneider but not for that it's a weird package 1st ovr pick ( desired by rebuilding teams ) and Schneider ( desired by contenders ) the only reason why the devils should trade him IMO is because he is the only reason there compeitive and New Jersey may ass well trade him now because they won't win a cup with him.

25 Apr 2017 16:55:43
How does this sound?

To Flames: Wayne Simmonds

To Flyers: Bennett + 1st + maybe a good young prospect like dube or Kylington

1.) 25 Apr 2017 18:27:41
If i'm Philly and you want Simmonds, i'm trying for Tkachuk+ instead of Bennett&1st+.

2.) 25 Apr 2017 18:31:05
Holy you value simmonds high. Both of you wow.

3.) 26 Apr 2017 02:27:28
I do value him highly, have you ever watched him play? Simmonds is a top 5 or so power forward in the league, only 28 years old and is a steal at his current contract. He would bring a lot to any team on and off the ice. Not to mention he can play both left and right wing and would be a 1st line forward on 90-100% of teams.

4.) 26 Apr 2017 04:10:53

That's what he's worth.

5.) 26 Apr 2017 14:26:06
Well you aren't getting tkatchuk. That's for sure. IMO he could end up being better than Simmonds. And with Gio slowing down I would really rather prefer they don't trade Kylington.

6.) 26 Apr 2017 15:32:33
Trade has a little merit.
Sub Bennett with Backlund and you may have something here.

21 Apr 2017 05:58:36
To cgy: cory shnieder

To devils: gillies + 1st + jankowski

1.) 21 Apr 2017 06:18:57
possibly. maybe change jank for someone else, but close at least i think.

2.) 21 Apr 2017 14:15:25
I'd love that for Calgary but i think NJ declines.

25 Feb 2017 04:34:27
3 possible trade for the flames

1) to Detroit: 2nd, 4th round picks

To Calgary: Thomas Vanek

2) to Tampa: Brian Elliott + 1st round pick (maybe add in a prospect like klimchuk)

To Calgary: Ben Bishop

3) to Calgary: 3rd or 4th round pick

Any team: Dennis Wideman(possible retainment)

All trades are fare, bishop trade may be going up quite a bit but it's what has to be done if you want a top goltender.

1.) 25 Feb 2017 05:39:49
Fair *.

Yakupov has been traded to st. louis.

26 Sep 2016 23:25:41
After a horrible season last year for the flames, i see a great bounce back season on the rise. Calgary's number one thing to do on the off season was to get good goltending. I thing picking up Elliott for a 2nd round pick was a steal, but i think signing Johnson for only 1.7mil was even Better. Johnson is so under valued, even on a though he was on a crapy team in buffalo last year, he still pulled out a winning record.
Here is what I think the lineup for the flames this season should look like:

Bollig/ Vey-Stajin-Bouma

I also think Bennet is going to have a 60+ point season, if he plays if he plaays to his true ability. Everyone is lookin at cup contending tem right here. GO FLAMES GO!

1.) 27 Sep 2016 01:21:37
Good team yeas cup contending not yet.

2.) 27 Sep 2016 01:40:58
Well I guess I can't rip you too bad for just being optimistic, right?

I mean, you're being ridiculous with your statements, but they aren't the same as someone like Tankie's.

3.) 27 Sep 2016 01:50:51
I think 45 or 50 points would be a way more appropriate expectation for Bennett this coming year, and a wild card contender yes but still far away from being a stanley cup contender.

4.) 27 Sep 2016 03:07:39
I think the flames will bounce back, should've of fired Hartley though.

5.) 27 Sep 2016 03:07:48

6.) 27 Sep 2016 04:05:18
Cup contending team? Did you mean playoff contending?

7.) 27 Sep 2016 10:19:34
Flames will be better. Likely better than the Oilers too, though it remains to be seen which version of Elliott we see this year. He's been one of the best goalies in the league and also one of the worst goalies in the league. Best was most recent, plus he also has a very solid d-core in front of him so I imagine he'll play well. Flames may challenge for a wild card, me thinks.

25 Jun 2016 06:21:13
Now that the flames have a goalie what do they do next? Also Tkachuk is LW so they need someone to play up front with Mony and Jony

This is what I am asking who should calgary bring in? Should they sign Reimer for a back up? And which winger should they sign? Okposo? Ladd?

1.) 25 Jun 2016 08:41:15
Doubt Tkachuk will make the team next year. Let him go dominate a year in London without Marner and Dvorak. He also needs to work on his skating to be an effective NHLer.

2.) 25 Jun 2016 14:49:18
Where's Hamilton.

Makes no sense from the Canucks, the picked Joulevi over tkachuk, they need defence.

I'd actually do this if they take the full salary, if they retain 50% than the leafs give a 2nd and flames give a third.

Laich was put on waivers yesterday, we get it wideman is a ref beater and is not the best d man but he's worth more than that.
