Edmonton Oilers:
- Scott Wedgewood

New Jersey Devils:
- Laurent Brossoit
- 2016 3rd (Penguins)

EdmontonOilers

1.) 22 May 2016 01:29:51
Lol.

2.) 22 May 2016 02:14:44
Some times you make me question if your a oilers fan.

3.) 22 May 2016 12:55:46
Why? Like. . . . why?

21 May 2016 23:22:08
Arizona:
- 2016 4th overall pick

Edmonton:
- 2016 7th overall
- 2016 20th overall

Explanation:
Arizona's defence looks good with OEK leading the charge and Stone and Murphy following him.

With the 4th overall pick they can select Tkachuk who is from the Arizona area which gives them grit in their offence.

Edmonton trades down like they want to and select a defenceman.

With the 20th overall pick and the 32nd, this gives Peter Chiarelli a lot of ammo to fetch a RHD.

EdmontonOilers

1.) 22 May 2016 01:30:18
Arizona's defence doesn't look good lol.

2.) 22 May 2016 02:28:34
Oilers need to trade down pick and also get a proven NHL defenseman in return, not more picks.

3.) 22 May 2016 05:25:59
I'd rather take Tkachuk or PLD. If we trade down I'd be for a later pick (6-12) and a young Dman.

4.) 22 May 2016 06:51:46
@MCJesus Christ

the 20th gives you ammo to fetch a defenceman.

5.) 22 May 2016 06:53:15
@Bud

OEK, Zbynek Michalek, Connor Murphy, Michal Stone
Thats a decent top 4.

6.) 22 May 2016 07:13:20
Ammo? Oilers don't need more picks they need real defenseman who can play now. Oilers can't wait another 3 years for a young defenseman to be good.

7.) 22 May 2016 08:12:48
Lol @EdmontonOilers, nothing to say but Lol.

8.) 22 May 2016 09:43:39
His idea of getting picks to trade for a D isn't that bad. Using the 4th would be more realistic though. Also getting Samuelson a big right winger could be a good idea instead of the late first.

9.) 22 May 2016 12:57:50
So the Oilers pick -- stated as being up for grabs the day they found out their draft position -- is "grabbed" for 2 later picks? If the Oilers don't have purpose with 4th overall, what purpose do they have with two later picks? They need players, not prospects. Ridiculous proposal.

10.) 22 May 2016 14:07:43
Most of the idea behind then trading down was to get defenceman. The best defenceman are not expected to go until 6-12. If the Oilers are smart they draft a dman, so the idea was to trade down to the 6-12 range, draft the dman and also get another asset. Though I agree with above and say they'd rather get an established d instead of another pick but the op is not out to lunch here.

Edmonton:
- Jeff Zatkoff

Pittsburgh:
- 2017 6th (Conditional)

-Oilers need a backup goalie
-Gives LB more time
-Zatkoff is a decent goalie
-Penguins get something

Conditional:
If Zatkoff signs a 1 way deal.

EdmontonOilers

1.) 19 May 2016 06:29:13
Zatkoff is a UFA on July 1st, why not just sign him?

16 May 2016 02:02:52
Oilers Off-season

Resign Zach Kassian to a 2yr $2.65m deal.
Resign Iiro Pakarinen to a 2yr $.925k deal.
Resign Adam Clendening to a 1yr $.975k deal
Resign Jordan Oesterle to a 3yr $.975k deal
Resign Niklas Lundstrom to a 1yr $.800k deal
Resign Brad Hunt to a 2yr $.900k deal
Resign Andrew Miller to a 1yr $.925k deal

Sign Jordie Benn to a 2yr $2.5m dollar deal
Sign Jason Demers to a 3yr $5m dollar deal
Sign Troy Brouwer to a 1yr $3.3m dollar deal
Sign Anton Khudobin to a 1yr $2.75m dollar deal.

I think this really helps Edmonton and i think this all fits the salary cap.

Jordie Benn is a tough defenceman which the Oilers could use.

Jason Demers helps Edmonton as a right-handed shot.

Troy Brouwer adds grit to the lineup

Anton Khudobin becomes backup goalie.

EdmontonOilers

1.) 16 May 2016 13:56:42
Where's all this cap coming from May I ask?

2.) 16 May 2016 23:27:33
Nikitin Contract is Finished, Schultz's contract is finished. that's like 6.5m in total.

They will likely buy out Ference and Korp.

15 May 2016 01:58:00
Edmonton Oilers:
- Adam Larsson
- 2016 11th overall
- 2016 41st overall

New Jersey Devils:
- Ryan Nugent-Hopkins
- 2016 4th overall

This makes a lot of sense to me.

New Jersey get their #1 centre with a great 2-way game that also has decent size and scoring ability.

New Jersey draft Dubois or Tkachuk which are very good players.

Oilers get their young right-handed defenceman at an OK price.

Oilers move down like Peter Chiarelli wants.

With the 41st overall pick, it gives Chiarelli ammo to pull of another trade for a defenceman.

Oilers select Tyson Jost or 1-3 defenceman (Juoveli, Sergachev, Chychrun) if available.

Or they can trade the 11th overall for great 2-way forward + more picks.

EdmontonOilers

1.) 15 May 2016 05:24:31
No from the Oilers. Giving up Nuge and the 4th overall should land you one hell of a dman, Larsson is not that dman.

2.) 15 May 2016 06:37:53
Who do you think you might get for that

I also don't think Larsson is worth that package.

3.) 15 May 2016 06:47:46
Nuge + 4th = Faulk.

4.) 15 May 2016 07:38:37
Easy no from Oilers
Nuge>Larrsson
4th overall >>> 11th, 21st overall.

5.) 15 May 2016 13:24:45
No from both teams. Losing Larson creates a massive whole in our defense, and the talent drop off isn't as much as people think it is from 4-11. Oiler fans think they can get more for their package, so i don't see why either team does this.

6.) 15 May 2016 18:49:27
Oilers can get a better d than larsson for nuge.

What is Connor Bleackley worth?

EdmontonOilers

1.) 22 May 2016 02:27:13
A 2nd Rd pick.

21 May 2016 01:52:22
Nashville:
- 2016 62nd overall
- Dillon Simpson
- 152nd overall

Oilers:
- Mattias Ekholm.

EdmontonOilers

1.) 21 May 2016 04:06:58
Hahaha not even close to Ekholm. No reason for Predators to trade away a top 4 dman for picks and some long shot prospect.

2.) 21 May 2016 05:28:53
With Jones now gone, I don't think Nashville is in any hurry to move any of their other dmen.

EdmontonOilers

1.) 20 May 2016 04:51:47
Man in what world is Alex Chaisson ahead of Silfverberg?! lol Kassian number 15? Lol this is worse then your trade props man. Also how is Cowen 23? Just poorly thought out.

2.) 20 May 2016 05:52:24
Also Olsen is too high^.

3.) 20 May 2016 06:19:37
I know this is unpopular opinion. And I am biased. But especially after how Hedman dominated Tavares in their series and my belief that if it's close you go D I take Hedman first.

4.) 20 May 2016 06:20:50
That being said for the most part this list is garbage. Too much to point out.

5.) 20 May 2016 06:46:15
Kassian at 15 is pretty generous.

6.) 20 May 2016 14:42:17
Orielly would go higher for sure not last the leafs.

7.) 20 May 2016 18:44:19
Idk if Kreider would go ahead of OReilly or Barrie.

8.) 20 May 2016 20:14:28
Weak draft.

9.) 20 May 2016 22:01:45
Okay very bad
1.Tavaras
2.Hedman
3. OEL
4.Duchene
6.Orielly
7.Tyson Barrie
8.Tatar!
9. Kane
10. Vatanen
11. Kadri

Just abit.

10.) 20 May 2016 23:06:52
@BJ96
Chiasson fits the Chicago lineup, big sized two-way player.
If he is drafted higher doesn't by one spot doesn't always mean he is better.

@Eb
Dylan Olson was one of the only decent defenceman left on the board with size that could be used in the Western Conference.

11.) 21 May 2016 02:16:38
Lol great reasoning Edmonton Oilers. Hats of too you.

12.) 21 May 2016 02:25:36
No NHL team or anybody with any hockey sense would take Chaisson over Silfverberg. Like not even close at all.

16 May 2016 05:29:07
Do you think when the playoffs are over St. Louis is going to keep Elliot or trade him?

Personally, i think they should trade him when his value is still high.

The guy can fetch a late 1st rounder or a early second rounder.

EdmontonOilers

1.) 16 May 2016 06:09:59
Keep him, transition him to 1A/ 1B with Allen (edging closer to equal starts in regular season) . That way they still have him for the playoffs next year as well if Allen still isn't ready to take the reigns.

2.) 16 May 2016 10:54:55
Chirp, Sometimes that's hard to do if their attitudes aren't up for that. Allen has been waiting for his time for a bit now and might cause some hard feelings and eventually an ask for a trade or something. I know Elliot has outplayed him so far and he hasn't earned anything yet. But sometimes its "easier said than done" to do something like that. Because apperentely professional have something called egos, who knew! But, I do agree that's what the should try and do.

3.) 16 May 2016 12:52:52
They have been 1a 1b tandem for last two years. They are actu a lly best friends fishing buddies. Allen won the 1a last year and elliot won 1a this year but Allen was no slouch his numbers are still fantastic.

4.) 16 May 2016 12:52:52

5.) 16 May 2016 13:43:14
@yup (I'm ignoring tankie)
I hear yee, but I don't see this as a Quick/ Jones kinda situation. Quick plays 65 games a year and his backup -- no matter who it is (Bernier, Jones, Enroth) -- picks up the scraps. In STL I see it more of a fluid transition. Allen has gotten more games as time goes on and it's probably for the best since he will be eased into being a starter. Some folks here are all about trading Fleury (and to the leafs for scraps, coincidentally. Shocker. ) and I don't see that as a good move at all. This train of thought extends to STL. Allen is absolutely capable but the more time they put into slowly engaging him as the #1, the better off he and the team will be IMO. Unless there erupts a conflict between Elliott and Allen, I say the Blues ride that tandem as long as they can.

6.) 16 May 2016 14:32:29
And if thier egos can handle doing it together then go on STL! For sure. All we have been hearing the last few years tho is how Allen is their future blah blah blah. And he has been hearing the same thing guaranteed as well.
But I do agree with ya man.

7.) 16 May 2016 18:10:18
come on chirp i thought we were besties.

8.) 16 May 2016 23:14:07

EdmontonOilers

1.) 16 May 2016 06:12:53
Craig Button thinks the Oilers take Juolevi with 4th if they don't end up trading it. He's only one guy, but he was incredibly accurate in his end-of-year mock draft last season. 100% in the top 10 (I only managed 80% so that shows you how smart he is. 😉)

2.) 16 May 2016 10:57:48
I agree with your top 10 there EdmontonOilers. I think if Edm finds a trade partner to upgrade their D by trading Yak, Ebs or Nuge and other pieces then I think they will use the pick to replace some of those pieces traded, been reading Dubios there would be nice. It all depends on the trade partners needs and what they want tho. Tons of options. Will be interesting that's for sure.

3.) 16 May 2016 22:04:59
Does Nashville pick 17th? They made it to the second round so I'm a little confused with that.

4.) 16 May 2016 23:21:25
@EBS

I was confused with that as well, but i checked 3 websites that say they do.
Not sure how it works.

@Chirp

I strongly disagree, Edmonton Oilers should not draft Juolevi. I personally think if they don't select Dubois or Tkachuk it's going to be Sergachev. The guy can QB the powerplay and can make that long pass. Hell of a shot as well. Heard he was good locker room presence as well.
6'3 206 lbs. Juolevi will fall to a Eastern Conference team.

@Yup

Agree, Dubois has size, speed, footwork, 2-way game and is a hard working guy. Love him.

5.) 17 May 2016 02:22:58
I wasn't making an argument for or against Juolevi, I was merely stating what Craig Button had said regarding the Oilers pick on "That's Hockey" the other night.

6.) 18 May 2016 00:28:20
@Chirp

I disagree with Craig Button.

What does colt have to do with this trade?

Oh and btw this is terrible.

Datsyuk is gone to Russia but Detroit will stay pay for his contract i think.
Larkin had one good year, don't know how he will be the next.

Nylander seems like a great player.
Marner is Leafs' prospect core, no way they are trading him.
