Same age not 100% sure on brodin, but I think he's slightly worse than trouba, but he is also locked up long term with an aav around 4, so with trouba being an unknown (salary wise) it may be good for the jets to get someone who is cap friendly.
Thoughts?

IF Johnny hockey won't sign and the flames do trade him,
Flames: Johnny+ 2nd/ 3rd
Flyers: Wayne simmonds and Ivan provarov
Logic: flyers get the best player in the deal, but the flames get an undervalued player in simmonds to replace John on the 1st line, and they also get an excellent d prospect. John
Gets to go home also.

Does any1 know much about Thomas dipauli? Just wondering cause the pens are reportedly going to sign him. Does any body know like a best case scenario nhl comparable or just a nhl comparable? Thanks.

This is from HockeysFuture which is a decent site for prospects etc but seems to be lacking recent updates. Sounds like McJesus is pretty similar to this.
Talent Analysis
DiPauli is an interesting case. Prior to the 2014-15 season, his third at Notre Dame, he was a high-energy two-way player with limited offensive upside (just 17 points in 67 games) . Then, he burst onto the scene with a 21 assist, 29 point effort in 41 games for the Irish last season. He is good on faceoffs and works hard at both ends of the ice, so his offensive explosion is likely due to an uptick in ice time and improved line mates. In any event, he is a strong two-way center with a high motor and strong skating ability.
Future
As of this writing, DiPauli is waiting to be signed by the Capitals or to be released as free agent. Should he sign with the Capitals, he will likely get a shot at the AHL or spend the year in the ECHL working on his offensive game. Ultimately, he could find himself playing the role of an effective third or fourth line center thanks to his ability in the faceoff circle and his high motor.

Is this really a question? c'mon please don't try to convince yourself you wouldn't trade Parayko for Elblad straight up. Parayko is 24 top 4/ 6 defencemen while Ekblad is only 20 and is a stud top pairing defencemen. plus minus is a bad stat to judge between 2 players and Parayko scored 60 percent of his points within the first few weeks of the season lol. If you really would take Parayko over Ekblad you've lost any credibility you never had and I would think you know absolute nothing and are just a biased St. Louis Blues homer. I can see why people would dislike the Blues just because of you.

First off parayko just turned 23 in may and wanted to finish college which he did. As far has his development this year he played 20+ minutes in pp pk even strength ect. I'm not going to continue to defend my stance on him I like parayko game and he had a better year than ekblad per stats and performed outstanding in the playoffs. So think what you will but I will remind you guys about your comments against him when he comes out with a bether year this year. Just like when I said blues would beat chi and Dal in playoffs you all said I was a homer then too. It's ok.

this can be looked at in two ways i think.
If you're talking about the best value over the life of the contract, it's definitely dncan keith. CHI got all the best years (there were many, and probably a few more to come) of one of the best defenceman in the league for just a touch over 5.5 mil. However, if you want to remove the stupid contracts signed before the lockout (which is likely a better way of doing it), i'd say it's Josi. He makes as much as some 3rd pair guys, but is one of the best all-around defencemen in the game without a doubt.
If you're asking about the best value just for this coming year, it's either benn or price for me. Benn is still at 5.5 for this year, which is tremendous value for one of the best forwards in the league, and price is, well, he's price - no explanation needed.
